Step forward Anish Kapoor, as we\u2019re greeted by a giant red inflatable work that seems to struggle to be contained by the space, as if it could pop at any moment. It captures a country in transition, including signs of racial segregation and everyday scenes of children playing in the street. It\u2019s the first photography exhibition I can recall at the gallery, and it\u2019s a great step away from its usual focus on paintings. <strong>Until 4th October; ticketed.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fadmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/hypha-southbankinstall-aug26-135.jpg\" data-lbwps-width=\"2000\" data-lbwps-height=\"1600\" data-lbwps-srcsmall=\"https:\/\/fadmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/hypha-southbankinstall-aug26-135-800x640.jpg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"960\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/hypha-southbankinstall-aug26-135-1200x960.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"lazyload wp-image-339686\"  data-\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This impressive space can host multiple exhibitions, but on this occasion it\u2019s been taken over by one sculpture-led exhibition curated by Nicholas Stavri. There\u2019s an upside-down rusted car, a leaning tower of recycled materials, scarily realistic-looking animal remains, and a repurposed Nintendo in an exhibition all about how artists can reuse a wealth of materials in their practice. <strong>Until 11th September, free.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fadmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Beauty-and-Destruction.-Copyright-IWM.jpg\" data-lbwps-width=\"2000\" data-lbwps-height=\"1333\" data-lbwps-srcsmall=\"https:\/\/fadmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Beauty-and-Destruction.-Copyright-IWM-800x533.jpg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Beauty-and-Destruction.-Copyright-IWM-1200x800.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"lazyload wp-image-339687\"  data-\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A church on fire, the haze over London during the Blitz, people sheltering in the London Underground, soldiers taking a quick cigarette break, and nurses at work. London and its people endured an awful time during World War II, and artists captured the horrors, the beauty, and the resilience of those years. There are several phenomenal paintings in every room of this free exhibition. <strong>Until 1st November, free.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fadmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Photofusion-3-adjusted.jpeg\" data-lbwps-width=\"2000\" data-lbwps-height=\"1382\" data-lbwps-srcsmall=\"https:\/\/fadmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Photofusion-3-adjusted-800x553.jpeg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"829\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Photofusion-3-adjusted-1200x829.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"lazyload wp-image-339688\"  data-\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ice cream melting and dripping down your legs, a giant stuffed toy won at a fair, and relaxing by the sea. These images capture the British Summer in bright colours.
