SCOTTISH Rock legends Biffy Clyro have teased their potential return to Glasgow ahead of their TRNSMT headline later this summer.<\/p>\n
Fans have speculated that the sold-out show for Screwfish at SWG3<\/a> tomorrow night, May 21, is, in fact, the chart-topping trio from Ayrshire.<\/p>\n Eagle-eyed followers have spotted a link to a website for a band called Screwfish, who are playing a concert at the SWG3 in Glasgow on Wednesday.<\/p>\n The Scottish rockers\u00a0were originally\u00a0called Screwfish during their earlier days, before they settled on the moniker of Biffy Clyro.<\/p>\n There’s been much speculation over the origins of their name, with the band giving various theories over the years – one that it was inspired by a biro pen owned by Cliff Richard, a ‘Cliffy Byro’ and another that explains it’s an anagram for ‘Big Inspiration For Feeling Young Cos Life Yearns Real Optimism’.<\/p>\n Biffy Clyro tease intimate Glasgow show ahead of TRNSMT\u00a0(Image: Sourced) The band, comprised of Simon Neil and twins Ben and James Johnston, were formed in Ayrshire and has since toured the world and produced award-winning chart-topping albums over their nine studio releases.<\/p>\n They were formed in 1995, when they were just 15-years-old, and played their first show under the name Screwfish in East Kilbride.<\/p>\n READ MORE:\u00a0TRNSMT announces 20 more acts including Celtic-daft rapper\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n The Screwfish site has also posted a link to tickets for the show on Ticketmaster, which went on sale here<\/a>. The group released their debut album \u2018Rivers Of Heresy\u2018 last year.<\/p>\n Fans who’ve been lucky enough to scoop up tickets to the Screwfish show will hope to get a sneak peek at new tunes or be treated to some old favourites.<\/p>\n\n
