GTA 6<\/a> is targeting 30fps on PS5 right now, with Rockstar uncertain whether it\u2019ll add a Performance Mode later.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s likely to include the PS5 Pro by the way, which has a beefier GPU than its base counterpart, but is unlikely to pack enough CPU power to double the frame rate.<\/p>\n

Confirmation comes by way of YouTuber Davy Jones<\/a>, who attended the dev\u2019s offices in Edinburgh recently, alongside other influencers.<\/p>\n

He was able to get confirmation that the game is currently targeting 30fps on all consoles, via lead developer and co-director Rob Nelson.<\/p>\n

Nelson did reportedly leave the door open for future improvements, however, noting that he\u2019d need \u201cto consult the technical team to determine if there will be a 60fps option at launch or later\u201d.<\/p>\n

Given the sheer density of the open world, I\u2019d honestly be stunned if Rockstar got this running at 60fps on base PS5 hardware.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s what the inevitable PS6 re-release is for after all.<\/p>\n
