More than 30 British people remain missing following devastating flash floods<\/a> in Nepal.<\/p>\n The catastrophic floods killed more than 500 people and left hundreds more missing<\/a>, according to official estimates released on Friday.<\/p>\n The UK has offered \u00a35m to help the Nepalese government<\/a> amid a \u201cvery distressing and devastating situation\u201d, Andy Burnham said. The prime minister added the government will be \u201cproviding all the support we can\u201d to the families of missing Britons. <\/p>\n Sarada Simkhada, a senior nurse at Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford, was one of 33 Britons missing, a local councillor said, as rescue efforts continued after flooding in the Rasuwa district bordering China\u2019s Tibet region.<\/p>\n Another Briton from Slough is also said to be unaccounted for.<\/p>\n A family from Surrey are also among those missing and feared dead. <\/p>\n Spandan Sahu, 18, was in Nepal with his father Santosh Sahu, 46, who is chief executive of UK pharmaceutical technology company Charac, as well as his mother Surabhi Manmath Padhy, 44, and sister Syna Kumari Sahu, 13.<\/p>\n Spandan had just finished his A-levels at Royal Grammar School, Guildford, and according to his LinkedIn profile, was preparing to study philosophy, politics and economics at university.<\/p>\n His profile said he was a senior prefect at the private school and a member of the hockey and cricket teams.<\/p>\n A spokesperson for the school said: \u201cIt is with great concern that we have been informed that a former student, along with members of his family, have been reported missing in Nepal.<\/p>\n \u201cWhilst we are hoping for positive news, we do not have any further information at this time.<\/p>\n \u201cOur thoughts, love and deepest sympathies are with all of the families and loved ones of anyone affected by this tragedy in Nepal at this incredibly difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n Fishtail Tours and Travels said Leena Bector was among 27 travellers associated with the tour group currently missing.<\/p>\n \u201cI know that she\u2019s in Nepal for sure,\u201d her husband, Bhupesh Bector, told The Times. \u201cSo even if they find her today or tomorrow, I need to be there.\u201d<\/p>\n Meanwhile, an Essex<\/a> nurse said his relatives were \u201cswept away\u201d by the flash floods as he launched a fundraiser to support those affected by the disaster.<\/p>\n Rajendra Pudasaini, president of the Non-Resident Nepali Association UK, said Nepal was witnessing an \u201cirreplaceable loss\u201d, adding that the country was \u201cpaying the price for global warming\u201d.<\/p>\n He also launched an appeal to raise funds for families affected by the devastation. <\/p>\n Mr Pudasaini said his mother was rescued by the army along with her months-old great-grandchild.<\/p>\n \u201cMy mother was trapped in the hospital. She went to the hospital in the morning just a few minutes before the flood came in the river,\u201d he said on Thursday evening. <\/p>\n \u201cShe just crossed past, and luckily she survived, and she was taken to safety today about a couple of hours ago.\u201d<\/p>\n The nurse said he had \u201clost contact with the families\u201d because of the damage done to electricity supplies and internet connections in Nepal.<\/p>\n Mr Pudasaini\u2019s son Suraj, from Essex, said his grandmother, great-uncle and great-aunt were missing. \u201cWe just keep on calling them to see whether they pick up,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are basically trying to help them to rehabilitate, giving them basic needs, food, clothes.\u201d<\/p>\n The association he leads is meeting with the Foreign Office on Friday morning.<\/p>\n A Sussex man said he had not heard<\/a> from his wife, mother, father, brother, and uncle in Nepal since the country was hit by the flash floods.<\/p>\n Speaking to the BBC, Pramod Poudel said he believed \u201c90 per cent\u201d of the village his family lived in had been swept away<\/a>, and that he feared the worst <\/a>for them.<\/p>\n \u201cI have my dad, my mum, my brother, my uncle, and my wife who live there, and I haven\u2019t heard from them for a while,\u201d he told BBC Radio Sussex. \u201cI don\u2019t know what to expect.\u201d<\/p>\n Hema Amin, from Croydon in south London, had started a pilgrimage to Gosainkunda Lake on Monday that was supposed to last until 4 September.<\/p>\n Her husband, Sunil Amin, told Sky News: \u201cI keep trying to call her. I\u2019ve been trying, trying, trying.\u201d<\/p>\n A number of those missing had been making a pilgrimage to the sacred Hindu site of Mount Kailash, Nepalese tour operator The Trekkers\u2019 Society said.<\/p>\n The operator said nine British nationals on one of its tours to the site were among those unaccounted for \u2013 four men, aged 14, 50, 50, and 54, and five women, aged 40, 46, 50, 50, and 53.<\/p>\n \u201cOur thoughts, love and deepest sympathies are with all of the families and loved ones of anyone affected by this tragedy in Nepal at this incredibly difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n Deepesh Patel told the Press Association that his parents, Bipin Patel, 66, and Mala Patel, 60, from Coventry, were missing after flying to Nepal on 22 August to make a pilgrimage to the sacred Hindu site of Mount Kailash.<\/p>\n He said the family last heard from the couple, who run a tutoring business, on Tuesday, and their last known location was in the Gyirong area of the Nepal-China border.<\/p>\n His brother Anant Patel told Sky News he was \u201cshocked\u201d at the lack of information about their whereabouts.<\/p>\n Anant Patel said: \u201cI think from our perspective, we\u2019re not just shocked that our parents appear to be missing, but also\u2026 the ongoing lack of certainty is causing further distress.\u201d<\/p>\n Neetu Goyal Tiwari, 51, has not been seen since Wednesday, having travelled to Nepal to take part in the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra pilgrimage.<\/p>\n \u201cPlease help us find her,\u201d her brother Naresh Goyal told the BBC, adding that the pilgrimage was her dream.<\/p>\n Nepalese tour operator Leaf Holidays said four UK residents were on their pilgrimage tour, which was crossing the border from Nepal to China in the Rasuwagadhi-Kerun area on Tuesday.<\/p>\n Married couples Tara and Babar Gurung, and Thaneswar and Tejkumari Gurung, were among 55 people from the tour now missing and have not been heard from since Tuesday, the operator said.<\/p>\n Tour operator Alpine Eco Trek said a 13-year-old girl was among the missing British nationals, as well as two Irish citizens.<\/p>\n Among the missing British nationals are also three men aged 65, 64, and 52, and seven women aged 44, 47, 51, 60, 63, 63, and 65, according to travel logs obtained by PA.<\/p>\n Kumar Adhikari, the manager of Alpine Eco Trek, said the tour group, who were on a nine-day tour to Mount Kailash, were crossing into Tibet from Nepal when they became trapped at the border as the flash floods struck.<\/p>\n He said he was in contact with his tour guides until 8.40am when their phones went offline, at which point the group would have been inside Tibet\u2019s immigration office.<\/p>\n Tour operator Kailash Journeys confirmed it had not been able to account for seven UK nationals, five women and two men aged between 18 and 55, travelling with the company.<\/p>\n Welsh tour company EverTrek said three of its Nepalese guides are missing.<\/p>\n Andy Moore, founder of the firm, told The Independent: \u201cWe have three of our guides missing: Bal Kumar Tamang, Angchering Sherpa and Lopsang Sherpa.<\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019re three guides we\u2019ve worked with for the last seven to eight years now, and we\u2019ve had no contact for the last 24 hours.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s off-season at the moment because of the monsoon, so they\u2019re freelance at that time, but they were essentially on the way to Mount Kailash in Tibet.\u201d<\/p>\n Mr Moore said his entire team has been shaken by the news, but they are doing all they can to find out more and attempt to locate them<\/p>\n He added: \u201cAlthough the Himalayas are an amazing place for trekking, it can also be brutal at times, and it’s been a very sad 24 hours.<\/p>\n \u201cSeeing some of the video clips, they look like something out of a movie, and you know that if you get swept up in that, it’s very severe.<\/p>\n \u201cFor us, it was just trying to contact the people we knew were in that vicinity, and unfortunately, we haven\u2019t.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re obviously praying for a miracle, but looking at the scenes and not having any signal or
