Prince Harry<\/a> and Meghan Markle<\/a> have just returned to the UK<\/a>, with the intention of now establishing a life closer to Harry’s royal family. They have secured a place, and both Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have reportedly been enrolled in schools. But is King Charles leaving just as they arrive?<\/p>\n

Charles and Queen Camilla<\/a> have just announced that they will travel to Antigua and Barbuda for the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting. The King will also be visiting the Bahamas and Guyana as part of the eight-day trip, which will take place from October 27 to November 4. That means he still has some time to see his son before he leaves the country.<\/p>\n

The King hasn’t visited the Caribbean since his accession to the throne. His first visit to a British overseas territory as a monarch came in May 2025, when he visited Bermuda.<\/p>\n

All of this comes as Harry’s move opens a new chapter for the British royal family. “He will want to see his sons together over time,” a source close to the royal household told <\/a>People<\/a>. “This is the best opportunity we have seen in recent years.”<\/p>\n

For now, reports indicate Prince William isn’t open to the idea. But proximity does make it much easier for a reconciliation to happen sooner rather than later.<\/p>\n

In a 2025 interview, Harry told the BBC<\/a>, “I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point. And the things that they’re gonna miss is, well, everything. I love my country, I always have. Despite what some people in that country have done.”<\/p>\n

But things seem to have changed, and reportedly, the King is very happy. The Mirror<\/a> said that Charles is “delighted at the prospect at seeing his grandchildren on a more regular basis,” but he remains cautious. The source explained that “there will be concerns over the true motivation for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s decision to leave the United States after everything that has occurred since they decided to leave their royal roles.”<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, one source told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice<\/a> that Harry and Meghan are still considered “loose cannons” to the royal family. “Nobody knows what they are going to do next, and nobody at the palace wants to find out through the American media.”<\/p>\n

Another said that Harry and Meghan’s return is “about money,” adding, “Harry knows the family fortune is in Britain. He also knows his father is the person who can make life much easier for him.”<\/p>\n

“They are coming back because they need Britain \u2014 and they need Charles.”<\/p>\n
