At last year&#8217;s I\/O, AI was also the crown jewel of the event, with a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/is-openai-sweating-9-google-features-announced-for-gemini-search-android-and-more\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">slew of AI-related announcements,<\/a>\u00a0including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/googles-new-gemini-models-can-process-almost-five-days-of-audio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gemini 1.5 Flash<\/a>, Veo, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/google-says-its-imagen-3-ai-image-generator-beats-dall-e-3-how-to-try-it-for-yourself\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Imagen 3<\/a>, and updates to Google&#8217;s mobile platform, Android. <\/p>\n<p>This year, you can expect the same trend, with new features across Google&#8217;s suite of tools, including updates to Gemini, Google Workspace, Google Search, and maybe even a new large language model.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Android 16<\/p>\n<p>Google already held its Android Show: I\/O Edition a week before the event, revealing many <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/your-android-phone-is-getting-a-huge-security-upgrade-for-free-whats-new\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Android 16<\/a> upgrades. The current roster includes its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/i-tested-chatgpts-deep-research-against-gemini-perplexity-and-grok-ai-to-see-which-is-best\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Google Deep Research<\/a> feature, which can search the web for you and compile the results into a detailed report, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/googles-gems-are-a-gentle-introduction-to-ai-prompt-engineering\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gems<\/a>, Google&#8217;s custom AI agents. <\/p>\n<p>A report from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/google-is-developing-software-ai-agent-ahead-annual-conference-information-2025-05-12\/?utm_source=www.therundown.ai&amp;utm_medium=newsletter&amp;utm_campaign=google-s-gemini-ai-expands-across-devices&amp;_bhlid=3b8139ec04bfd32cb6eb3e64dad185a802874220\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" class=\"c-regularLink\">The Information<\/a> suggested Google is working on an AI agent to help software engineers with the entire development process.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Also: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/7-new-ai-features-are-coming-to-google-workspace-heres-what-they-can-help-your-daily-workflow\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Google Workspace gets a slew of new AI features.
