Landman fans clamoring for season three will have to wait a little longer.<\/p>\n

Taylor Sheridan\u2019s series<\/a> is just about to begin production on its third season, according to James Jordan, an actor and one of the Yellowstone creator\u2019s top collaborators. <\/p>\n

Landman, a gritty Western series which follows a top oil executive played by Billy Bob Thornton<\/a>, premiered in 2024<\/a>. Its 10-episode second season began airing in November 2025, with the finale dropping in early 2026. Fans were hoping that season three would debut before the end of 2026. However, Jordan confirmed that won\u2019t be happening.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re about to start Landman Season 3<\/a>,\u201d Jordan confirmed to TV Insider<\/a>. \u201cSo, we\u2019re getting those scripts. We\u2019re about to get to work, and we\u2019re going to try to have that out as soon as we can. So, stick around for that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jordan currently stars in both Landman and Lioness, which is in the middle of airing its third season. Speaking about Sheridan to TV Insider, he called the prolific writer \u201cunmatched.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s unrivaled as a writer in the talent department. I mean, his imagination,\u201d Jordan said.<\/p>\n

In addition to Yellowstone, Lioness<\/a>, and Landman, Sheridan is responsible for several other shows including 1883, 1923 and Dutton Ranch. <\/p>\n

He recently revealed that the latest Yellowstone spin-off, 6666, has been permanently shelved<\/a>, despite Paramount having announced it was in development<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Four Sixes Ranch, which is an active ranch in Texas\u2019s King County, plays a role in seasons four and five of Yellowstone when character Jimmy Hurdstrom (Jefferson White) heads to a fictionalized version of the historic ranch to learn how to be a cowboy.<\/p>\n

Paramount revealed in 2021 that it had commissioned 6666 as a spin-off, set when Comanches ruled West Texas two centuries before the events of Yellowstone. That same year, a buyer group represented by Sheridan bought the ranch after previous owner Anne Burnett Marion died the year before.<\/p>\n

However, speaking on the Rodeo Time podcast, Sheridan said<\/a> \u201cthere\u2019s never going to be\u201d a spin-off about the Four Sixes Ranch.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would never fictionalize that ranch,\u201d he said. \u201cPeople thought that that was going to be a thing, but I would never do that.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added that he didn\u2019t want to be \u201cmaking up lives\u201d and \u201cinventing a drama\u201d at a ranch that is still active. \u201cSo now I\u2019m trivializing and fictionalizing something where real people work, and they raise their families there, and I could never do that to them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI could never do that to the cowboys that dedicated themselves, and everybody that works on that ranch.
