{"id":11772,"date":"2025-04-11T20:33:12","date_gmt":"2025-04-11T20:33:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/11772\/"},"modified":"2025-04-11T20:33:12","modified_gmt":"2025-04-11T20:33:12","slug":"airlifted-woman-fights-for-life-after-horror-collision-at-golf-course","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/11772\/","title":{"rendered":"Airlifted woman fights for life after horror collision at golf course"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>West Midlands Ambulance Service said they were called at 10.26am after the casualty suffered life-threatening injuries near to Blake Street, in Little Aston<\/p>\n<p>14:59, 11 Apr 2025Updated 15:00, 11 Apr 2025<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A woman was airlifted to hospital and was fighting for her life after a crash at a golf course in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/all-about\/sutton-coldfield\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Sutton Coldfield<\/a> today, Friday, April 11.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/all-about\/west-midlands-ambulance-service\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">West Midlands Ambulance Service<\/a> said crews were called at 10.26am after the casualty suffered life-threatening injuries in the collision with a van near Blake Street in Little Aston.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Two ambulances, two paramedic officers, a trauma doctor and critical care paramedic and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene at Aston Wood Golf Club.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">READ MORE: <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/news\/midlands-news\/sutton-coldfield-golf-live-breaking-31403599\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Sutton Coldfield police incident live as officers cordon off golf club<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman told BirminghamLive: \u201cUpon arrival we found a woman who was the pedestrian with life-threatening injuries in a critical condition.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/0_police-scene1JPG.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>The police scene outside Aston Wood Golf Club on Blake Street, in Little Aston(Image: Nick Horner\/BirminghamLive)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cAmbulance staff quickly began administering advanced life support and advanced trauma care to her at the scene which continued en route to <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/all-about\/queen-elizabeth-hospital\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Queen Elizabeth Hospital<\/a> where she was conveyed via air ambulance for further treatment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cNo further patients required treatment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">One woman said she was waiting at Blake Street railway station and heard someone shouting for &#8220;help&#8221; from the golf club at around 10.30am.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Police scoured the area around bushes on Station Approach. Officers were also seen on the hunt for CCTV covering the station and car park.
