Prince Harry and Meghan Markle<\/a> are officially back in the UK, and the royal family<\/a> has been awfully quiet about it. But one person says she\u2019s excited to have Harry living close by: Princess Diana\u2019s niece, who has now become the first family member to welcome him home<\/a> publicly. <\/p>\n

It makes sense; Harry has always seemed closer to the Spencers. But still, isn\u2019t it a little strange that the royals haven\u2019t released some kind of statement, even if just to save face?<\/p>\n

Princess Diana\u2019s niece spoke to a British news outlet.<\/p>\n

Lady Eliza Spencer \u2014\u00a0who is the daughter of Diana\u2019s brother, Charles Spencer \u2014\u00a0seems pretty pleased<\/a> that her cousin Harry is back in the UK. <\/p>\n

On Wednesday, at an event to launch her new ros\u00e9 brand Lala V, she told Mirror, \u201cAbsolutely, it\u2019s exciting! We would love to be able to find some time to visit.\u201d<\/p>\n

There\u2019s no word on how much time she\u2019s spent with Meghan (after all, she and Harry did leave the UK just a couple of years after tying the knot) but she did go to her wedding to Harry. And as far as we can tell, they do have a few things in common. Meghan\u2019s brand, As Ever, also sells wines, so if nothing else, they have that topic to get chatting about. <\/p>\n

Though Harry has been mostly estranged from the royals over the past several years, he is believed to have remained close with Diana\u2019s side of the family. In July, he and Meghan took their two kids, Archie and Lili, to Althorp, which is Diana\u2019s former home and where she is buried. <\/p>\n

Add that to the recent report that claimed that Charles is a big fan of Harry\u2019s<\/a> but not so much William, and it all starts to add up. <\/p>\n

According to what a source told People this week, Charles is hoping that the proximity will bring his two sons back together<\/a> again. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe will want to see his sons together over time,\u201d a royal insider said. \u201cThis is the best opportunity we have seen in recent years.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, that doesn\u2019t mean it will be easy for Prince William to give his dad what he wants. Another source told the outlet that \u201cthere is a deep sense of betrayal\u201d for him and wife Kate Middleton, even now. <\/p>\n

\u201cThey have suffered a lot,\u201d a source said of Will and Kate. \u201cThey have been dutiful, doing what they do well and keeping the family together. Anything else, from their point of view, isn\u2019t critical.\u201d<\/p>\n

If Charles starts looping Harry and Meghan into family gatherings, though, it sure is going to be hard for Will to keep that silent treatment going for long\u2026 <\/p>\n
