{"id":1177668,"date":"2026-08-30T18:37:37","date_gmt":"2026-08-30T18:37:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1177668\/"},"modified":"2026-08-30T18:37:37","modified_gmt":"2026-08-30T18:37:37","slug":"future-yard-reveals-launch-series-for-new-600-capacity-venue-in-birkenhead-birkenhead-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1177668\/","title":{"rendered":"Future Yard reveals launch series for new 600-capacity venue in Birkenhead \u2013 Birkenhead News"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Future Yard, Birkenhead\u2019s pioneering community venue, has shared launch details including the first batch of artists from the inaugural\u00a0Autumn\/Winter Programme\u00a0of the new 600-capacity crowdfunded live venue set to open its doors before the end of the year.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new venue and adjoining purpose-built studio complex are set to supercharge Future Yard\u2019s impact across Birkenhead and beyond, with the capacity to deliver upwards of 50 additional Future Yard shows per year, including at least 150 additional performance opportunities for local artists within the live room.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project will also see 2,000 extra hours of practical experience for Sound Check trainees and space for 3,500 children a year to access Future Yard\u2019s new School\u2019s Music Curriculum in the 12 acoustically treated mixed-use studio and teaching spaces that connect the new venue to Future Yard\u2019s existing live space.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The entire complex has been designed in line with the seven principles of universal design, with accessibility embedded in the architecture. Erected on the venue\u2019s former garden space, the new space also conforms to Future Yard\u2019s ambitious sustainability aims and is core to the organisation\u2019s commitment to achieving operation net zero by 2030, positioning Future Yard as one of the first in the UK to reach that milestone.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Designed as a low-energy space featuring a bespoke sustainable heat recovery system, the new complex is a forward-thinking, future-facing cultural building designed to serve, support and sustain generations of creativity to come.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Leading the inaugural Autumn\/Winter programme announcement are Mercury Prize shortlisted Scottish multi-instrumentalist\u00a0corto.alto,\u00a0who will return to Future Yard in\u00a0November after a sold-out show earlier this year; Detroit hip hop icon\u00a0Xzibit; critically acclaimed experimental art-rock quintet\u00a0Squid; Brit Award-winning synth pop singer-songwriter\u00a0Holly Humberstone; Belfast-born instrumental post rock titans\u00a0And So I Watch You From Afar; Liverpool\u2019s own doom metal stalwarts\u00a0Conan; New York City art-rockers\u00a0BODEGA; a rare Q&amp;A with inimitable author\u00a0Irvine Welsh\u00a0as part of BBC 6Music DJ Chris Hawkins\u2019 Q&amp;A Sides series\u00a0as well as the 2026 installment of ongoing KLF\/The K Foundation\/K2 Plant Hire project\u00a0Birkenhead Day of the Dead, with much more still to come.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Established in 2020, Future Yard was immediately celebrated as the town\u2019s first dedicated live music venue.
