\n A lot of work is said to have gone on behind the scenes to prepare for operations being transferred to a new state-of-the-art control room.\n<\/p>\n
\n On Monday, August 31, people travelling on Subway services will notice a variety of differences.\n<\/p>\n
\n Richard Robinson, director of Transport<\/a> Operations at SPT, explained what to expect in stations and on the trains.\n<\/p>\n \n This includes fully operational platform screen doors at three stations, on-train announcements and passenger screens, and platform screens with live train arrivals.\n<\/p>\n \n Speaking on Friday, August 28, he said: \u201cThis is a really big weekend for us at Subway. We\u2019re going through a major transition for our new signalling and communication system.\n<\/p>\n \n \u201cWhat does this mean to you? Well, it means that, first of all, Sunday, August 30, we\u2019re closed. The screens will also give you that up-to-date information on where you are on your journey and really help people to navigate our system in the most seamless possible way.\n<\/p>\n \n \u201cWe really hope you enjoy the new capabilities that we\u2019re bringing to you and welcome you to Subway.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
