But the Awtaad filly already had Group 3-placed form and she excelled on the yielding ground to win for the first time at 9-1.<\/p>\n<p data-testid=\"Text__3__GlideArticleBody\">\u201cThis win is massive,\u201d said McLoughlin. \u201cIt was a long wait on the weather, but it was more than worth it. She put that to bed very professionally. She\u2019s a good-sized filly now and I\u2019d say she\u2019ll really come into herself from now until the rest of the year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-testid=\"Text__4__GlideArticleBody\">Now McLoughlin is aiming for Group 1 glory on Arc weekend with his stable star. He said: \u201cShe\u2019s entered in the Prix de la Foret and it ticks a lot of boxes. I\u2019d say it\u2019s worth taking a chance over there, so it could be an exciting end to the year with a bit of luck.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-testid=\"Text__5__GlideArticleBody\"><strong data-testid=\"Text__51__GlideArticleBody\">Byrne bridges 30-year gap<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-testid=\"Text__6__GlideArticleBody\">They were showing new Father Ted episodes the last time Michael Byrne landed a Pattern race, but <a target=\"_blank\" data-testid=\"Link__62__GlideArticleBody\" id=\"likedbymike\" class=\"sc-b2c32ca0-0 dLKaTt\" href=\"https:\/\/www.racingpost.com\/profile\/horse\/6350080\/likedbymike\/form\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Likedbymike<\/a> brought the big-race drought stretching back to 1996 to an end when winning the Abergwaun Stakes.<\/p>\n<p data-testid=\"Text__7__GlideArticleBody\">Conor O\u2019Dwyer rode Gentle Buck to a Grade 3 victory over hurdles way back when, and this time it was the six-time champion jockey Colin Keane who had the honour of steering the 11-4 favourite to a first Listed success for the Cahir-based trainer.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-testid=\"Text__8__GlideArticleBody\">Likedbymike had gone close in plenty of valuable races this year and Byrne said: \u201cThis means everything. We&#8217;ve only two horses to run and we ran both of them today. Breeze-ups are our main game.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-testid=\"Text__9__GlideArticleBody\">\u201cThere\u2019s a fillies\u2019 Listed race at the Curragh at the start of next month, so that\u2019s probably where we\u2019ll go next. This doesn\u2019t happen very often to us!\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-testid=\"Text__10__GlideArticleBody\"><strong data-testid=\"Text__101__GlideArticleBody\">Another Foret bound<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-testid=\"Text__11__GlideArticleBody\">Magny Cours could meet a fellow Cork winner in France as Michael O\u2019Callaghan is minded to send his impressive 7f conditions race winner <a target=\"_blank\" data-testid=\"Link__112__GlideArticleBody\" id=\"bamako-beach\" class=\"sc-b2c32ca0-0 dLKaTt\" href=\"https:\/\/www.racingpost.com\/profile\/horse\/8120554\/bamako-beach\/form\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Bamako Beach<\/a> to Longchamp as well.<\/p>\n<p data-testid=\"Text__12__GlideArticleBody\">Top-rated of the eight-runner field on the back of his seventh in the Irish 2,000 Guineas in May, the colt ran green in the final furlong but overcame a marked drift to the stands&#8217; side rail to score with authority.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-testid=\"Text__13__GlideArticleBody\">\u201cHe\u2019s a good horse and one we\u2019ve always liked,\u201d said O\u2019Callaghan. \u201cThat was a good race taking on older horses, but he couldn\u2019t have done it much easier. He\u2019s still a big baby. He had only one run as a two-year-old and he finds things very easy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-testid=\"Text__14__GlideArticleBody\">\u201cWe have the Foret in our heads.
