Ludhiana: Athletes and gym enthusiasts in Ludhiana are facing increased financial strain following a 15% to 20% price hike across key fitness supplements, pushing the average price of a 2kg whey protein tub from ₹4,000 to over ₹5,000.The price surge across products—including whey protein, pre-workout, creatine, mass gainers, and multivitamins—has impacted regular gym-goers, athletes, trainers, sports coaches, and individuals using supplements for health reasons. Actual prices vary based on brand, nutritional content, and market sales.Impact on monthly budgetsLocal consumers reported that the price increase is significantly altering their monthly expenses and daily consumption.“I have been using whey protein and mass gainer in my diet and gym routine. The recent price increase means I have to spend around two thousand rupees more every month to keep up with my diet which is guided by my coach,” said Rajveer, a student and regular gym-goer from Ludhiana. “It is becoming difficult to manage the expenses as a student and fitness enthusiast.”Neha, another regular gym-goer practicing strength training, echoed similar concerns regarding post-workout recovery items. “The prices are increasing regularly, considering the situation, maybe I have to reduce the quantity of the supplements,” she said.Increase in int’l raw material costSupplement store managers and owners confirmed the price revision, attributing it to elevated international raw material prices, packaging expenses, and freight rates passed down by manufacturers.“The increase in international raw material prices and transportation costs has forced manufacturers to raise their rates. We have no choice but to pass on these increases to consumers,” said Suraj, a local supplement store representative. “The demand is still there in the market despite the price hike.”Fitness coaches noted that while supplements help individuals meet specific athletic targets or nutritional deficits, natural foods remain an effective alternative.“The supplements are only consumed by the people who have dedicated goals, or the ones who cannot get enough nutrients from their daily diet and routine,” said Abhay, a local gym trainer and fitness coach. “However it is best to get the required vitamins and minerals from natural foods as the prices are increasing day by day, also the supplements should always be bought from a trusted source. Otherwise a planned healthy diet can also help the people to keep their body fit with regular exercise.”

Fitness coaches noted that while supplements help individuals meet specific athletic targets or nutritional deficits, natural foods remain…

[4318
319232,14930,319229,319215,319221,141264,319212,319218,319211,319220,123910,105,2408,319226,319234,319210,99692,319217,319216,319222,319231,4434,319228,28419,319214,77628,319230,319225,319219,4713,319224,319233,319227,319223,16,15,319213
post-1177865","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-nutrition","tag-abhay-gym-trainer","tag-athletes","tag-consumer-spending-on-supplements","tag-creatine-price-hike","tag-fitness-coaches","tag-fitness-industry","tag-fitness-supplement-prices-up-15-20","tag-gym-enthusiasts","tag-gym-supplements-price-hike","tag-gym-trainers","tag-gym-goers","tag-health","tag-healthy-diet","tag-international-raw-material-prices","tag-karan-sharma","tag-ludhiana","tag-manufacturers","tag-mass-gainer-price-hike","tag-multivitamins-price-increase","tag-natural-foods-vs-supplements","tag-neha-ludhiana","tag-nutrition","tag-packaging-expenses","tag-post-workout-recovery","tag-pre-workout-price-hike","tag-punjab","tag-rajveer-ludhiana","tag-raw-material-cost-increase","tag-sports-coaches","tag-strength-training","tag-supplement-store-owners","tag-suraj-supplement-store","tag-transportation-costs","tag-trusted-supplement-sources","tag-uk","tag-united-kingdom","tag-whey-protein-price-increase
["GET
