{"id":1179262,"date":"2026-08-31T17:12:12","date_gmt":"2026-08-31T17:12:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1179262\/"},"modified":"2026-08-31T17:12:12","modified_gmt":"2026-08-31T17:12:12","slug":"nssf-airtel-money-partner-on-smartlife-savings-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1179262\/","title":{"rendered":"NSSF, Airtel Money Partner on SmartLife Savings Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n            Airtel Money and NSSF have renewed their partnership to help Ugandans join SmartLife and begin long-term saving with Shs500.\n        <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Shs500 savings: Ugandans can start contributing to SmartLife with only Shs500 Airtel Money access: Customers can register and save using their mobile phones<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Shs199.3 billion assets: SmartLife Flexi has attracted more than 130,000 members.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Financial inclusion: The plan targets formal workers, informal earners and Ugandans abroad.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ugandans can now start building long-term savings with as little as Shs500 following a renewed partnership between Airtel Money and the National Social Security Fund (NSSF).<\/p>\n<p>The deal will widen access to SmartLife, NSSF\u2019s flexible savings plan for people in both formal and informal employment. It also covers Ugandans living abroad.<\/p>\n<p>Customers can register and contribute through Airtel Money. Each transaction attracts a charge starting at Shs150.<\/p>\n<p>The service targets traders, boda boda riders, farmers, entrepreneurs and self-employed professionals whose incomes may not follow a fixed monthly schedule.<\/p>\n<p>SmartLife Flexi had accumulated Shs199.3 billion in assets by August 28, 2026. More than 130,000 people had joined the scheme in less than two years.<\/p>\n<p>Airtel Uganda has more than 20 million subscribers.
