Last night Saturday, we had a booking for 36 guests, but unfortunately, nobody showed up. We had prepared food, staff, and supplies, resulting in a significant loss for our small business.\u201d<\/p>\n
The owners added a plea for all future customers to inform venues as soon as they can if they can\u2019t fulfil their bookings. They added: \u201cWe understand that plans can change, but please let us know if you can\u2019t make your booking. A simple message can make a big difference. Thank you to everyone who continues to support us.\u201d<\/p>\n

The restaurant, which changed to its current name last summer, received a significant number of comments from people in response to their post, with some suggesting that requiring deposits, whilst not ideal to everybody, would make it more likely that all bookings were fulfilled in the future. The restaurant received the Gold Seal at the Good Food Awards earlier this year, recognising its ‘culinary excellence’.<\/p>\n
One suggested: \u201cYou definitely need to take a deposit for groups most places do where I book for groups.” Another wrote: “When I\u2019ve booked tables elsewhere online they\u2019ve asked for card details at time of booking in case of a no-show which I don\u2019t think anyone could grumble at. Absolutely unacceptable to treat a small business like this.\u201d<\/p>\n
Another proposed: \u201c\u00a310-\u00a320 PP booking fee for tables over 10 seems absolutely reasonable and most places do it.” One other also suggested: “Plus most places have a caveat that booking must be confirmed 48 hrs before.<\/p>\n

Others also shared their support for the restaurant and cocktail bar, with one saying: \u201cThat\u2019s actually disgusting. You have a brilliant restaurant – fabulous food every time & top service. I\u2019d happily pay a deposit & not be offended if asked for one.<\/p>\n
Another wrote: “That’s awful! Such a great place and sorry this happened to you.” One other said: “Absolutely awful !!!! \u2026. At least if there is a legit reason they ring and tell you !!!! Awful that you will have to ask now for a deposit on a big booking !!! Why are people so nasty ???? We love it here so keep on being fab.\u201d<\/p>\n
In a follow-up post, the restaurant added: “Thank you for your support and nice comments, it means a lot to us. Casa takes booking based on TRUST.
