\n\t\tLiverpool made a late move to sign Malo Gusto from Chelsea (PA Wire)<\/p>\n

Liverpool<\/a> failed with an attempt to sign Chelsea<\/a> right-back Malo Gusto<\/a> on transfer deadline day, according to reports.<\/p>\n

Manchester City<\/a> had expressed an interest in signing Gusto earlier this summer but were not prepared to meet Chelsea\u2019s \u00a375 million asking price<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Gusto is now in his fourth season at Chelsea after joining in a \u20ac35m (\u00a330.7m) from Lyon in 2023.<\/p>\n

Liverpool have been in the market to sign a new right-back as Conor Bradley<\/a><\/strong> is sidelined with a long-term knee injury, which leaves Jeremie Frimpong<\/a> as Andoni Iraola\u2019s only experienced option in that position.<\/p>\n

However, Liverpool were unsuccessful in their talks with Chelsea over a deal for Gusto on deadline day.<\/p>\n

According to RMC Sport<\/a>, Liverpool wanted a loan deal without an obligation to buy the France international.<\/p>\n

    Gusto featured for France at the World Cup this summer which meant his pre-season campaign with Chelsea was shortened.<\/p>\n

    However, the 23-year-old has started in both of Chelsea\u2019s Premier League wins over Fulham and Brighton.<\/p>\n

    Elsewhere, Chelsea sold Enzo Fernandez to Manchester City in a \u00a3125m deal on deadline day<\/a>.<\/p>\n

    Chelsea then reached an agreement with Monaco to sign Lamine Camara for \u20ac55m\u00a0(\u00a347.1m) before the Ligue 1 side cancelled the deal for the midfielder in the final hour of the transfer window<\/a>.<\/p>\n
