Leeds United<\/a> looked unlikely to land a winger after Spurs\u2019 Mykhailo Mudryk hijack, but deadline day has produced a stunning deal to sign Jean-Matteo Bahoya.<\/strong><\/p>\n

United headed into the final days of the transfer window needing at least two of the three lingering holes in the squad plugging.<\/p>\n

Left-back, left-wing, and striker were the three areas of weakness. And, the club look to have resolved two of those.<\/p>\n

Leeds United land Jean-Matteo Bahoya transfer on \u00a325.7million loan-to-buy<\/p>\n

Alongside Noah Okafor, Leeds could do with more cover and competition on the left-wing to relieve the burden on the Swiss winger.<\/p>\n

On the afternoon of deadline day, it emerged that Eintracht Frankfurt winger Jean-Matteo Bahoya was the name<\/a> on the agenda. Close to joining Hull City recently, the winger was still available from the Bundesliga club, and Leeds promptly struck an agreement.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a loan agreement initially, with United having an obligation to make it permanent. The \u00a325.7million fee is contingent on Bahoya triggering an undisclosed clause, per The Athletic<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In typical Leeds fashion, it\u2019s not been a straightforward one. The transfer required a deal sheet to be submitted to give the Whites more time to secure a signature, having announced Melvin Bard just before the \u2018deadline\u2019.<\/p>\n

Just over 24 hours ago, we were all left fuming at the news that Spurs had hijacked our deal to sign Mykhailo Mudryk.<\/p>\n

The Ukraine winger looked an intriguing player to target after his lengthy ban, but a supremely gifted player that could have lit up Elland Road.<\/p>\n

However, in Spurs gazumping us with a loan and \u00a375million buy option agreed<\/a>, Leeds have been presented with a better deal.<\/p>\n

Now, agreeing to bring in Bahoya for a potential \u00a325.7million permanent deal, Leeds are gaining a younger asset that looks likely to be here for years to come, as opposed to Mudryk, who Chelsea clearly want developing for their own gain.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s no telling what impact Bahoya and Mudryk can have relatively speaking at their new clubs. But, Leeds missing out on Mudryk paved the way to a deal that looks significantly better on face value.<\/p>\n
