South Yorkshire Police has confirmed investigations are underway | GOOGLE STREET VIEW <\/p>\nTwo men and two women have been charged with murder after a newborn baby girl was stabbed to death in Sheffield, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has said. <\/p>\n
A 15-year-old girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has also been charged with perverting the course of justice. <\/p>\n
The baby was found at a property on Holywell Heights in the Wincobank area, northeast Sheffield, after police were called over concerns for the newborn’s safety at 5.58am on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Andrea Skopova, 20, Peter Horvath Jnr, 19, Peter Horvath Snr, 38, and Nina Horvathova, 37, have been charged with murder, causing or allowing the death of a child, and perverting the course of justice by taking steps to conceal the killing of an infant, the CPS has said. <\/p>\n
The defendants remain in custody and will appear before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court today. <\/p>\n
Lauren Costello, Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor at CPS Yorkshire and Humberside, said: “The Crown Prosecution Service has decided to prosecute four individuals with murder following a police investigation into the death of a newborn baby girl in the Wincobank area. <\/p>\n
“A fifth person has also been charged with perverting the course of justice.<\/p>\n
“Our prosecutors have worked to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to court and that it is in the public interest to pursue criminal proceedings.<\/p>\n
“We have worked carefully with South Yorkshire Police as they carried out their investigation.<\/p>\n
“We remind all concerned that proceedings against the defendants are active and they have the right to a fair trial.<\/p>\n
“It is vital that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in anyway prejudice these proceedings.”<\/p>\n
In the early hourse of Sunday, paramedics and police gave their best efforts to save the baby girl, but she sadly died at the scene. <\/p>\n

The CPS has confirmed today that five people have been charged over the fatal stabbing of a newborn baby<\/p>\n

A forensic post-mortem examination conducted on Monday confirmed the newborn died from stab wounds.<\/p>\n
Initially, seven people were arrested on suspicion of murder, but two of these people, aged 26 and 37, were later released on bail. <\/p>\n
Police obtained a warrant to keep the remaining five in custody for longer as their investigation continued. <\/p>\n
