The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/articles\/cq8eplxd7yzo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">baby swimming in a pool<\/a> from Nirvana, perhaps, or the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Richard_D._James_Album\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">dude from Aphex Twin<\/a> grinning like a crazy-eyed demon.<\/p>\n<p>Well, now it\u2019s time to reconsider what you think of as CD cover art. A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mercurynews.com\/tag\/arts\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">traveling exhibit<\/a> titled \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/oaklandartmurmur.org\/event\/ultrahive4\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">UltraHive 4<\/a>\u201d at the gallery FM Oakland \u2013 coming from L.A., going to Tokyo next \u2013 has gathered more than 100 artists to design their own surreal dream covers.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" lazyautosizes lazyload\" alt=\"The traveling exhibit &quot;UltraHive 4&quot; is on view until Sept. 26, 2026, at the FM Oakland art gallery in Oakland, Calif. (John Metcalfe\/Bay Area News Group)\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>One cover is titled <a href=\"https:\/\/hivegallery.com\/art-for-sale\/galleries\/past-art-for-sale\/july-2026\/page\/2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">\u201cSanpaku Cthulhu\u201d<\/a> and features a crying Billie Eilish surrounded by octopus tentacles. \u201cLiving Without Knowing Whether I\u2019m Hurting, Protecting or Hiding\u201d is a three-dimensional mask of what looks like an android protruding from the CD case.
