\n Two men and two women have been charged with murder after the death of a newborn baby girl in South Yorkshire.\n <\/p>\n

Police responded on Sunday to reports of concern for the safety of an infant in the Wincobank area of Sheffield<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Despite the best efforts of officers and paramedics, the baby was pronounced dead at the scene, South Yorkshire<\/strong> Police said.<\/p>\n

A post-mortem revealed that she died as a result of stab wounds.<\/p>\n

Initially, seven people were arrested, aged between 15 and 38.<\/p>\n

Andrea Skopova, 20, Peter Horvath, 19, Peter Horvath, 38, and Nina Horvathova, 37, have now appeared at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court charged with murder. All four have been remanded in custody.<\/p>\n

The four have also been charged with causing or allowing the death of a child and perverting the course of justice by taking steps to conceal the killing of an infant.<\/p>\n

The infant is yet to be identified but was named in court as Baby S.<\/p>\n

A 15-year-old girl, who cannot be named because of her age, has been charged with perverting the course of justice.<\/p>\n

The five have been remanded in custody, and will appear at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court later on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Detective Chief Inspector Tom Woodward said: “This is a significant step in our investigation into the tragic circumstances that resulted in the death of this baby girl.<\/p>\n

“I would like to thank our communities, who I know will have been deeply impacted by this traumatic incident, for supporting us as we work through this intricate investigation.<\/p>\n

“We would ask the public to avoid speculating and posting information online about this case while the legal process takes its course.<\/p>\n

“Protecting the integrity of the criminal justice process is crucial to us securing justice for this little girl.”<\/p>\n

Two women, aged 26 and 37, who were arrested on suspicion of murder remain on bail.<\/p>\n
