The Galaxy Watch 8 battery specs just leaked, and it isn’t a big jump from the previous model.

According to a report from SammyGuru, the Galaxy Watch 8 series has been found in official documentation. Test certificates for several devices, including two models of the Galaxy Watch and an unknown version have surfaced with battery information in tow.

The Galaxy Watch 8 will come in a 40mm and 44mm version. This is the configuration users are used to at this point, as Samsung hasn’t changed sizing up within the base models in some time. The Galaxy Watch 8 40mm variant will come with a 325mAh battery, based on typical capacity estimation. The 44mm version will bring a 435mAh battery.

Both of these capacity counts are up from the Galaxy Watch 7, which brought a 300mAh and 425mAh battery, respectively.

Advertisement – scroll for more content

The report also mentions an SM-L505F model. That variant is likely the premium version of the Galaxy Watch 8 series. As to what Samsung is going to call it, we don’t know. There is speculation about another Galaxy Watch Classic version rather than a Pro or Ultra model. This would likely fall into the Classic camp simply because it only brings a 450mAh typical capacity cell. An Ultra or Pro model would likely fall within the 500mAh or 600mAh range.

In any case, it seems Samsung isn’t quite ready to bring larger batteries to the Galaxy Watch series. We’re hoping to see the company shift into high-performance silicon-carbon batteries sometime soon, which would offer longer lifespans per charge.

More on Samsung:

FTC: We use income earning auto affiliate links. More.

New generational versions of Galaxy Watches often offer up the promise of better specs, including battery capacity.
