Fast-forward four decades, and Marin is bringing back the Madrone Trail with some modern performance upgrades. Check out the new Marin Madrone Trail 40th anniversary edition here…

The Madrone Trail was Marin’s first-ever bike model. It was priced at $200 and designed to put Marin on the map. Here’s what designer Joe Murray had to say about the Madrone Trail: “When Marin came out with its first product line, it was just me. I made all the frame drawings on an early 512K Macintosh. Bob had the idea of a promotional bike to get things rolling – the Madrone Trail was about as low-cost as anyone could get and still be a functional mountain bike.”

To celebrate 40 years of business, Marin has released the Madrone Trail 40th Anniversary Edition. It was actually hiding in plain sight at the Marin demo rack at Sea Otter this year, but the team was tight-lipped and not ready to spill the beans. The reimagined Madrone Trail features a 4130 Chromoly steel frame, heritage graphics, and modern components and specs. Serialized from 001 to 440, each bike features hand-painted splatter graphics that ensure no two are exactly alike.
