The family of four plans to live a private life in a non-royal residence outside of London. However, royal observers told Fox News Digital<\/a> that Meghan\u2019s career could create issues with the British royal family.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe nightmare for the Palace is that they can\u2019t be controlled,\u201d royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said. \u201cDiary clashes will probably mean royal engagements are overshadowed by what the Sussexes choose to do and what they are, or are not, asked to by the Palace.\u201d<\/p>\n

YouTuber Kinsey Schofield added that Buckingham Palace will have \u201cvery little control\u201d over Harry and Meghan\u2019s professional engagements, as they aren\u2019t working royals: \u201cThey are private citizens and no longer working on behalf of the King, so Buckingham Palace isn\u2019t approving Meghan\u2019s interviews, appearances, Instagram posts or commercial projects.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut Harry is still the King\u2019s son and Meghan is still the Duchess of Sussex, so there is an inevitable association with the monarchy,\u201d she continued. \u201cThat\u2019s the complicated part. They can operate independently while still benefiting from an enormous amount of public interest that exists because of Harry\u2019s DNA.\u201d<\/p>\n

When Meghan was a working royal, the palace essentially controlled her life and public image. However, since leaving that role behind in 2020, Meghan has forged her own path. According to People<\/a>, she\u2019s now returning with her own multifaceted career, her own team, and full control over her life.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe has been vocal about how she felt about it before, but that doesn\u2019t mean things are going to be exactly the same again,\u201d an ally told the outlet<\/a>. \u201cIt doesn\u2019t mean it can\u2019t be different and can\u2019t change.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another insider shared that her support system is \u201cstronger now than it ever was to protect her\u201d and her family.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, Schofield noted that while Buckingham Palace \u201ccan\u2019t control\u201d what Harry and Meghan do with their time in the UK, it can \u201ccontrol access to the institution.\u201d She revealed that the palace \u201ccan decide how much proximity they have to working royals, royal residences, and official events. That is where the palace still has considerable leverage.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMeghan may be returning without palace restrictions, but she is also returning without palace protection,\u201d she explained. \u201cYou don\u2019t get one without losing the other.\u201d<\/p>\n

Still, restricting Meghan and Harry\u2019s access to royal events could backfire. The couple will likely book their own appearances, which may take attention away from the royal family. Fitzwilliams mentioned that royal diaries are \u201cplanned well in advance,\u201d and there\u2019s \u201clikely to be numerous clashes,\u201d which will \u201cfuel fascination with the Sussexes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIf Meghan were repeatedly scheduling appearances or announcements to coincide with major royal engagements, people would notice. She might not be breaking a written rule, but there are conventions and courtesies around these things,\u201d Schofield claimed. \u201cIf you consistently attempt to overshadow the working Royal Family, eventually the pattern becomes the story.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the other hand, some royal enthusiasts believe Meghan won\u2019t be as reckless as people assume. Royal broadcaster Ian Pelham Turner told Fox News Digital, \u201cI feel Meghan will play a very cautious hand at first similar to that devised by Kate and be the very epitome of decorum, style and elegance.\u201d<\/p>\n
