The prices of both Red Dead Redemption<\/a> and Red Dead Redemption 2<\/a> have quietly increased on the UK PS Store<\/strong><\/a> in the past few weeks, resulting in a \u00a310 price hike for the former and a \u00a35 jump for the latter.<\/p>\n

First spotted by our sister site Pure Xbox<\/a> concerning the Xbox One version of the sequel and the backwards compatible version of the first game, these price increases also apply to the PS4 editions.<\/p>\n

The simple PS4 port of Red Dead Redemption began life at \u00a339.99, but the PS Store now has it at \u00a349.99. Similarly, Red Dead Redemption 2 has been \u00a354.99 since at least June 2021, but it’s gone up to \u00a359.99 in the past week. To reflect the price increases of each game, the bundle of the two titles has gone up by \u00a315, now priced at \u00a399.99, when it used to be \u00a384.99. According to Pure Xbox, the Xbox versions of both games have also seen price increases in Brazil, Czechia, and Chile.<\/p>\n

Of course, the price of video games and potential increases is the talk of the town at the moment, as fans speculate if Rockstar will dare to go beyond $80<\/a> when it prices GTA 6<\/a> \u2014 the new standard now set by Nintendo and Microsoft<\/a> for some of its first-party releases. These price adjustments for two titles in Rockstar’s back catalogue have been live for a week now, which would suggest they were meant to be updated, if nobody has caught the change by now and corrected them.<\/p>\n

Console hardware has increased in price \u2014 for both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S \u2014 in recent months, and Sony has also bumped up the costs of its three PS Plus<\/strong> tiers<\/a> in select regions.
