A North Devon man is fighting to give his wife more time after she was diagnosed with a rare type of brain cancer earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Tony Moran-Ambrose says he is \u201csimply not ready to lose\u201d his “beautiful” wife Frankie, 38, who was unexpectedly diagnosed with cancer following two seizures.<\/p>\n

The couple, who own Morans Restaurant in Westward Ho!, had been living a normal life with their four-year-old son Indi when everything changed.<\/p>\n

Tony said: \u201cWithin hours we went from living our normal, happy, slightly chaotic family life to being told that my beautiful wife had a cancerous brain tumour.\u201d<\/p>\n

Frankie was diagnosed with oligodendroglioma, a rare type of brain cancer.<\/p>\n

Tony said Frankie\u2019s tumour is \u201clarge\u201d, \u201cdeep inside her brain\u201d and due to its location can not be safely removed.<\/p>\n

Scans over the past six months have shown \u201cprogression in the tumour\u201d and \u201cincreasingly concerning enhancement\u201d, meaning finding the right treatment for Frankie has become \u201cincredibly urgent\u201d.<\/p>\n

Tony said: \u201cThe last few months have absolutely terrified me.<\/p>\n

\u201cThrough all of the fear, we are still us. We still laugh, we still love, we still enjoy the beautiful moments and we are still making memories as a family.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to fill her days with love and hope while I spend every waking hour I can searching for answers.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery single day I pray that somehow, somewhere, we are going to find our miracle.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tony is also fighting for their son Indi who \u201cabsolutely adores his mummy\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery single day at school, he finds a stick for Frankie. He keeps hold of it all day and when she picks him up, he gives it to her like he\u2019s found her the greatest treasure in the world. He\u2019s always so proud of himself.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want our house filling up with Indi\u2019s sticks for years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tony said he wants Frankie to see Indi grow up.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want her there for the first days of school, the birthdays, the Christmas<\/a> mornings, the teenage years and all those completely ordinary little moments that you never realise are precious until suddenly you\u2019re frightened they might be taken away.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since Frankie\u2019s diagnosis, Tony said he has spent countless nights researching, contacting doctors, scientists, hospitals, charities, pharmaceutical companies and clinical trial teams around the world.<\/p>\n

The family say they are currently speaking with specialists and exploring brain tumour vaccines, immunotherapy, international treatment centres and emerging clinical trials.<\/p>\n

Some of the options are not routinely available in the UK, meaning the family may have to travel abroad, access specialist treatment privately or pay for advanced testing.<\/p>\n

As a result, Tony has launched a fundraiser to help Frankie access specialist treatment and travel costs for treatment abroad.<\/p>\n

He said he does not yet know which treatment opportunity will be the right one for Frankie, but is actively pursuing each option.<\/p>\n

\u201cI never imagined I would have to ask people for this kind of help.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut this is Frankie. This is the love of my life. I need help. We need help. Because the truth is, I\u2019m not ready to lose my wife. Indi isn\u2019t ready to lose his mummy. We need her here. And right now, more time with Frankie is the most precious thing in our world.\u201d<\/p>\n
