Ukrainian greenhouse cucumber producers increased their selling prices this week, according to analysts at the EastFruit<\/a> project. Producers say that the price increase has been primarily driven by strong demand amid a reduction in the supply of these vegetables on the domestic market.<\/p>\n

At present, Ukrainian greenhouse enterprises are offering cucumbers at UAH 30-55\/kg ($0.67-1.23\/kg)<\/strong>, which is on average 20% higher than at the end of the previous working week.<\/p>\n

According to market participants, the upward price trend is being driven by several factors. First of all, it is a result of reduced supplies of open-field cucumbers from local farms. In addition, not all greenhouse complexes have yet started harvesting cucumbers from the second production cycle.<\/p>\n

At the same time, greenhouse cucumbers in Ukraine are currently selling at prices that are on average 44% higher than during the corresponding period last year. Market players also do not rule out the possibility of further price increases given the strong demand.<\/p>\n
