Having sold out their entire UK arena tour this morning, Fontaines D.C. <\/strong>today announce their biggest ever shows. The five-date run of outdoor headline shows will take in Blackweir Fields, Cardi<\/strong>ff(29th June), St James\u2019 Park, Newcastle (1st July), Heaton Park, Manchester (3rd July), Glasgow Green (6th July) <\/strong>and London Stadium (9th July). <\/strong>Support on all dates will come from Little Simz <\/strong>and Viagra Boys<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fontaines D.C. – Grian Chatten, Carlos O\u2019Connell, Conor Curley, Conor Deegan <\/strong>and Tom Coll <\/strong>– will release their fifth album Dopamine Chamber <\/strong>on 16th October <\/strong>via XL Recordings<\/strong>. Produced by James Ford<\/strong>, it’s the follow-up to 2024’s UK platinum-certified Romance <\/strong>\u2013 and the sound of a band moving decisively away from the guitar language of their early records and into their most seductive music yet. Preceded by lead single “Marianne<\/strong>“, the album arrives like a constellation behind undulating sighs of smog: potent balladry, anthemic melodies glinting through the murk. In a world tipping towards collapse, it asks how pleasure mutates amid peril\u2014and what our pursuit of it reveals about us. \u201cThe album itself is a dopamine chamber,\u201d says Chatten. \u201cYou step inside and we test these different mind- or mood-altering pieces of music on you.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fontaines D.C. have spent five albums refusing to repeat themselves \u2013 from Dogrel <\/strong>(2019) through A Hero\u2019s Death <\/strong>(2020), the UK and Irish No. 1 Skinty Fia <\/strong>(2022) and the anarchic, kaleidoscopic Romance <\/strong>(2024). Dopamine Chamber is their most radical turn yet. It was made with Ford between London, the English countryside and Palermo, where Chatten recorded vocals in a makeshift booth built from mattresses and cushions. \u201cThere\u2019s a poignant sense of us being on the brink of some other kind of form of humanity, or non-humanity,\u201d says Chatten. For their fifth album, Fontaines D.C. have built the chamber.
