A home in Co Down has sustained \u201cextensive damage\u201d following an early-morning arson attack.<\/p>\n

Police say they are treating the incident, which took place in the Balloo Walk area of Bangor at around 5.30am on Sunday as arson with intent to endanger life.<\/p>\n

While there was damage to rooms inside the property, it was unoccupied at the time and there were no injuries.<\/p>\n

A PSNI<\/a> spokesperson said: \u201cOfficers attended the scene, alongside colleagues from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service<\/a> who extinguished the blaze. <\/p>\n

\u201cExtensive damage was caused to rooms inside a property. Thankfully, no injuries were reported \u2013 and the house was unoccupied at the time of the fire.\u201d<\/p>\n

They added: \u201cWe are treating this report as arson with intent to endanger life, and enquiries are ongoing today to determine a motive and who was involved.<\/p>\n
