In a brilliant watch for the neutral, Arsenal came from behind to beat Chelsea on Sunday, with Martin Odegaard<\/strong> (\u00a36.6m) and Kai Havertz<\/strong> (\u00a37.5m) on the scoresheet.<\/p>\n

Here are our Scout Notes from the match.<\/p>\n

ODEGAARD \u201cGREAT\u201d<\/p>\n

In a superb display, Odegaard put Arsenal ahead early in the second-half.<\/p>\n

The Norwegian has now scored three goals in four appearances in all competitions this season, having netted only once in 36 matches in 2025\/26.<\/p>\n

A major factor in this improvement has been his willingness to break into the box whenever possible.<\/p>\n

In fact, in the first three Gameweeks, he\u2019s racked up 13 penalty box touches (5.29 per 90). That\u2019s just three fewer than Bukayo Saka<\/strong> (\u00a39.5m).<\/p>\n

For context, he averaged only 2.44 penalty box touches per 90 in the Premier League last season.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cFirst of all, he feels fit and confidence-wise, it\u2019s the highest I\u2019ve seen him. He has a point to prove from last season as well, from missing so much football. Kai [Havertz] is the same; Bukayo [Saka] is the same. We missed so many attacking players last season for long, long periods \u2013 I\u2019m not sure how many games they played together last season, but probably not many.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you start to feel the chemistry they have between them and what they can produce, it\u2019s great. But for me, he gets to that point because he\u2019s enjoying his football. You have to enjoy what you do, to play with real intent, and that\u2019s what I saw today. ARTETA ON HAVERTZ AND TZOLIS<\/p>\n

Arsenal\u2019s other attackers stepped up, too.<\/p>\n

Havertz netted the equaliser by beating Emiliano Martinez<\/strong> (\u00a35.0m) at the near post, before Christos Tzolis<\/strong> (\u00a36.5m) supplied the assist for Odegaard\u2019s strike, which was brilliantly dummied by the German.<\/p>\n

Havertz led the line for the third straight match here and put in an excellent shift, with three shots and three chances created.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe looks happy. He looks settled, happy, and some great things have happened in his personal life as well. He feels fit, he\u2019s training every day and has this routine right now. Tzolis meanwhile kept his place on the left wing ahead of Eberechi Eze<\/strong> (\u00a36.4m). And after a slow-ish start, he grew into the game.<\/p>\n

Bukayo Saka<\/strong> (\u00a39.5m) was also a constant threat and unlucky not to score.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s also important to mention that Riccardo Calafiori<\/strong> (\u00a35.7m) had a goal disallowed, with Ezri Konsa<\/strong> (\u00a34.4m) in an offside position. He was later subbed off in the 66th minute.<\/p>\n

KONSA IN, MOSQUERA OUT<\/p>\n

Konsa made his full debut for Arsenal on Sunday, as he replaced Cristhian Mosquera<\/strong> (\u00a35.5m).<\/p>\n

Mikel Arteta had previously insisted that Mosquera\u2019s withdrawal at Villa Park in Gameweek 2 \u201cwas more a precaution than anything else\u201d. However, he failed to even make the matchday squad here.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cHe had a muscular issue, and we think it\u2019s not too much. But we need to wait and see the next few days for how it evolves.\u201d \u2013 Mikel Arteta on Cristhian Mosquera<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In his absence, Konsa had a really solid game and banked more defensive contributions (DefCon) than any other Arsenal player.<\/p>\n

ROGERS ON TARGET<\/p>\n

Overall, Xabi Alonso will probably be pretty pleased with Chelsea\u2019s performance.<\/p>\n

While Martinez should have done better for Havertz\u2019s equaliser, the away side carried a threat in north London, despite their low expected goals (xG).<\/p>\n

Morgan Rogers<\/strong> (\u00a37.6m) opened the scoring with a first-time volley after just two minutes. He later curled an effort narrowly wide.<\/p>\n

The former Aston Villa man has now produced an attacking return in each of Chelsea\u2019s first three Premier League matches.<\/p>\n

There were blanks \u2013 and bookings \u2013 for Cole Palmer<\/strong> (\u00a39.6m) and Joao Pedro <\/strong>(\u00a37.7m), although Pedro Neto<\/strong> (\u00a36.5m) did hit the post from the latter\u2019s superb pass.<\/p>\n

A late Estevao<\/strong> (\u00a36.4m) strike was brilliantly saved, too.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cIt was never going to be a game to create 12 opportunities. They are hard to beat, they are hard to create chances [against], but we had three, four chances to score more than one goal. This is a process. It\u2019s still early days for us. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to start having clean sheets, they will come. The players are committed to working hard, to knowing that we\u2019re on the way to compete in each game. Not happy that we couldn\u2019t get anything but we need to keep calm and carry on.\u201d \u2013 Xabi Alonso<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

As for Arsenal, they\u2019ve conceded only 0.89 expected goals (xG) across the first three Gameweeks, the lowest of any team. They\u2019ve also faced the fewest shots, with 24.<\/p>\n

WHY COLWILL WAS BENCHED, CAICEDO LATEST<\/p>\n

Chelsea\u2019s starting XI showed two changes from the win over Brighton and Hove Albion.<\/p>\n

Reece James<\/strong> (\u00a35.4m) replaced Malo Gusto<\/strong> (\u00a35.0m) in the middle of the park, while Josh Acheampong<\/strong> (\u00a34.5m) was picked over Levi Colwill<\/strong> (\u00a34.9m) in the back three.<\/p>\n

Alonso later said that Colwill was only fit enough for the bench, as he has had \u201clittle things during the week\u201d.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, Moises Caicedo<\/strong> (\u00a35.4m) missed out, having come off injured in Gameweek 2.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cIt is not long-term but it\u2019s about assessing the risk. Probably, last week, we took him too early and I don\u2019t want to make the same mistake again.\u201d \u2013 Xabi Alonso on Moises Caicedo<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Wesley Fofana<\/strong> (\u00a35.0m) played in Colwill\u2019s position on the left of the back three and racked up 17 DefCons.<\/p>\n
