\n Scott Silkstone, 51, of no fixed address, was sentenced at Leeds Crown Court, after being convicted of killing Dwayne Tuohey in Burmantofts, Leeds.\n<\/p>\n
\n The court heard that Silkstone attacked Mr Tuohey, 55, inside his flat at Gargrave Court before dragging him outside and repeatedly stamping on him.\n<\/p>\n
\n Mr Tuohey was found unconscious near bins outside the flats by paramedics on January 1.\n<\/p>\n
\n He was taken to hospital but later died from his injuries.\n<\/p>\n
Violent assault<\/p>\n
\n Forensic investigators found blood throughout the living room and on a number of objects, including a prosthetic leg, a crutch, a heater, a shower seat and a metal box.\n<\/p>\n
\n Experts concluded several of the items had been used as weapons during the attack.\n<\/p>\n
\n Silkstone was sentenced to life imprisonment and must serve a minimum of 22 years before being considered for parole.\n<\/p>\n
Family’s heartbreak<\/p>\n
\n In a statement, Mr Tuohey’s family said his murder had changed the way they see the world and highlighted the devastating impact violent crime has on loved ones left behind.\n<\/p>\n
