The following story is about a new mother who repeatedly asked her family<\/a> not to kiss her 10-week-old baby on the face.<\/p>\n

Her husband\u2019s brother-in-law kept kissing the baby despite being told several times, and he even did it while he was sick.<\/p>\n

Now, she\u2019s worried about her baby getting sick and wondering how to stop him without causing family problems.<\/p>\n

My partner and I had a baby 10 weeks ago.<\/p>\n

Since my baby was born, I have asked all family members not to kiss my baby.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t mind on the head, but anywhere near the face, lips, or cheeks, I don\u2019t want it happening.<\/p>\n

I personally think it\u2019s slightly weird to kiss a baby on the lips if you\u2019re not the parents.<\/p>\n

But also, any sickness or illness, I don\u2019t want spread to my daughter.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This woman noticed that her brother-in-law was always kissing her baby.<\/p>\n

My husband\u2019s brother-in-law, my husband\u2019s sister\u2019s boyfriend, keeps kissing her on the face.<\/p>\n

I have told the family time and time again, and he nods like he agrees.<\/p>\n

Then 10 minutes later, he\u2019s holding and kissing her.<\/p>\n

If he\u2019s not kissing her, his face is always in her face.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s not a creep, so I don\u2019t mean he\u2019s being weird, but I think it\u2019s disrespectful how he is just not listening.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Even when he was sick, he kept being close to the baby.<\/p>\n

And yesterday, he was over with a cold and a chest infection, and was all up in her face.<\/p>\n

How do I change this without causing problems because it is really annoying me?<\/p>\n

And I don\u2019t want my 10-week-old to be getting sick.<\/p>\n

He was so sick he had to go upstairs for a lie down.<\/p>\n

I just can\u2019t believe I\u2019m even writing this. It annoys me to the point I don\u2019t want him coming over.<\/p>\n

Ugh! It\u2019s really disappointing when a grown-up keeps ignoring a clear boundary with a baby.<\/p>\n

Kissing the baby while sick makes the situation even more concerning.<\/p>\n

I agree that OP should be able to enforce the rule firmly without feeling guilty about protecting her baby.<\/p>\n
