{"id":1194344,"date":"2026-09-09T03:12:30","date_gmt":"2026-09-09T03:12:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1194344\/"},"modified":"2026-09-09T03:12:30","modified_gmt":"2026-09-09T03:12:30","slug":"kruise-leeming-secures-new-club-for-2027-as-return-to-huddersfield-giants-confirmed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1194344\/","title":{"rendered":"Kruise Leeming secures new club for 2027 as return to Huddersfield Giants confirmed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/S4A7929.jpg\" class=\"attachment- size- wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"  \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kruise Leeming will return to the Huddersfield Giants in 2027, having secured a release from his contract at Wigan Warriors.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Leeming, who still had another year left on his deal at the Brick Community Stadium, has spent 2026 on a season-long loan at the Catalans Dragons in order to remove his wage from the salary cap.<\/p>\n<p>The former Leeds and Gold Coast man last played for the Cherry and Whites in the 2025 Grand Final defeat to Hull KR, and this year has played almost every game under Joel Tomkins, Ryan Sheridan and John Cartwright.<\/p>\n<p>With Wigan needing to offload him due to the cap, the one-time England international has been able to return to his former club, and the club he made his name at.<\/p>\n<p>Leeming becomes the Giants\u2019 third signing for 2027, joining ex-teammates in Jaimin Jolliffe (Gold Coast) and fellow number nine Jeylan Hodgson at the club.<\/p>\n<p>He is set to partner Zac Woolford in the position, with boss Jim Lenihan showing he likes to use two hookers in his 17.<\/p>\n<p>Leeming has signed a three-year deal to play at Dewsbury\u2019s FLAIR Stadium \u2013 the venue the club will be moving to next season.<\/p>\n<p>    Most Read on Serious About Rugby League<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dissecting Leeds Rhinos v Wigan Warriors, St Helens miss the six and Wakefield make statement <a class=\"in-cell-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=E9xSvsEisX4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">\u2013 Click here to watch the latest episode of the Serious About Rugby League Show<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kruise Leeming sets out silverware goal after Huddersfield Giants return<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the signing, Giants Director of Rugby, Andy Kelly, said:\u00a0\u201cI\u2019m really excited about Kruise returning to the club.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s been to Leeds, a spell in Australia and has come back and proven himself back in Super League with Wigan and Catalans. Watching him in recent weeks, including his appearance at the Accu Stadium, he\u2019s been one of Catalans\u2019 standout players and changes the game when he comes on to the field.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat Kruise brings is, not just the guile that goes with a hooker, and that includes his running game, but he brings leadership qualities that we\u2019ll need going into the next couple of seasons.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Leeming is confident that he can help the club win trophies over the next three seasons, with a bold goal laid out. He said:\u00a0\u201cI\u2019m really excited, it feels like a new adventure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was a different player back then, the whole team is different, it\u2019s exciting for me to go back to Huddersfield. I want to win something at the club that give me the chance to start my career as a professional, it would be the biggest achievement of my career, it\u2019s big words but it\u2019s the truth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of players at the club I can learn from. Zac [Woolford]\u2019s a really good hooker, and we\u2019ll work well together.
