The first official celebration of beer gardens is set to be held in Manchester this week. Society, a hub for independent street food and drinks, has launched the inaugural National Beer Garden Day, which will take place on Thursday (May 22).<\/p>\n
Society is home to one of the best loved beer gardens in the country, which can be found by a secluded fountain overlooking the Rochdale<\/a> Canal Lake at Barbirolli Square in Manchester. To mark the occasion, the hub has placed a National Beer Garden Day Bar Tab for the first person to visit on the big day.<\/p>\n All you have to do to win the tab is head to the bar and say “Happy National Beer Garden Day”, and if you are the first to do it – the beer tab is yours. The prize gives the winner six free drinks of their choice from the Vocation bar.<\/p>\n Society is calling for locals in Manchester or further afield to get involved in the nation\u2019s first beer garden celebration by simply taking as many people as you know to your favourite beer garden and enjoying a drink.<\/p>\n Anybody participating has been asked to share a picture on socials with #NationalBeerGardenDay and Society will share the photo on their social media account.<\/p>\n Despite often being hailed as one of the UK\u2019s rainiest cities, Manchester punters are also amongst the keenest beer garden dwellers in the country with the city crowned the second biggest and most favourable after London for outdoor drinking and dining (study conducted by PowerEPOS<\/a>). And so Society thought it the perfect city to launch the first ever National Beer Garden Day.Nick Gregory, co-founder of Society commented: “We\u2019ve always been blown away by how popular our beer garden is here in Manchester.<\/p>\n “It\u2019s truly admirable to see how even the most fleeting sunshine brings our fantastic Society fans outside to enjoy their pints by the fountain!<\/p>\n “We love that about Manchester – people get their coats on and get on with it.
