It’s tough on terrestrial television<\/a> at the moment. <\/p>\n “They’re basically halving the daytime budget. <\/p>\n “So a lot of shows are going down to half the number of episodes they’re currently showing.”<\/p>\n He then shared: “And there’s a conversation that [GMB] might meld with Lorraine and Lorraine might meld with This Morning, This Morning might meld with Loose Women.”<\/p>\n Chris later said that the shows were all quite alike.<\/p>\n He said: “And the shows, they’re not dissimilar, are they? Nobody would notice.”<\/p>\n This comes amid chatter that beloved morning host, Lorraine, 65, who underwent surgery<\/a>\u00a0earlier this month, could quit TV for good.<\/p>\n Sources say that staff on\u00a0Lorraine<\/a>\u00a0are fearing the legendary host could quit.<\/p>\n ITV show feuds<\/p>\n AFTER fans claimed Judi Love snubbed Lorraine Kelly’s Bafta win, we take a look at a few more<\/p>\n In a very drastic move from ITV amid the shakeup they revealed this week, the Scottish presenter’s show will be slashed from an hour to 30 minutes.<\/p>\n Not only this, but it will\u00a0only air for 30 weeks out of 52<\/a>.<\/p>\n The changes mean fewer appearances from\u00a0Lorraine<\/a>, who has hosted her self-titled programme since 2010 and been with ITV since the 80s.<\/p>\n Her regular stand-ins,\u00a0Christine Lampard<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Ranvir Singh<\/a>, will not host the show on a Friday anymore, but will remain part of the “ITV family”, it has been revealed. <\/p>\n Even though ITV boss Kevin Lygo has insisted that all presenters will remain the same across all affected programmes, a source told\u00a0The Mirror<\/a>: \u201cThere are genuine fears among staff that Lorraine may decide to walk if the quality of the show they are putting out declines.<\/p>\n “It\u2019s hard to see how standards won\u2019t fall\u2026.and there are questions over whether Lorraine will want to be associated with that.<\/p>\n “Lorraine and her team are perfectionists – it\u2019s why the show is loved by so many.\u201d<\/p>\n The source added that the move was a \u201ckick in the teeth\u201d for the programme.<\/p>\n A second insider added: \u201cThis is a presenter who has just come back from having an operation, has won a\u00a0Bafta<\/a>, is enjoying record ratings\u2026.and then ITV show their appreciation by yanking her off air half the year.<\/p>\n “Staff are beside themselves, and have been in tears constantly.<\/p>\n “It doesn\u2019t make any sense given the trajectory the show is on.\u201d<\/p>\n Altogether, ITV is\u00a0slashing 220\u00a0jobs<\/a>, as it aims for cost savings of up to \u00a350million.<\/p>\n ITV confirmed\u00a0in a dramatic statement<\/a>\u00a0that from January 2026, the show will air 9.30am to 10am, and only for 30 weeks a year.<\/p>\n The move comes as part of a major overhaul of ITV\u2019s\u00a0Daytime<\/a>\u00a0schedule, which will also see\u00a0Good Morning Britain<\/a>\u00a0extended to 9.30am and produced by ITV News at ITN.<\/p>\n This Morning<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Loose Women<\/a>\u00a0will continue but share production resources in a cost-cutting blitz.<\/p>\n ITV says savings made will go into dramas and major sporting events, including the\u00a0next\u00a0football\u00a0World Cup<\/a>.<\/p>\n![\"Four](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/coleens-life-loose-latest-instalment-996628227_c89791.jpg\")
