Manchester United fans dropped their clear-cut feelings on Alejandro Garnacho after the player\u2019s performance for Ruben Amorim\u2019s men in the 2025 Europa League final against Tottenham.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Red Devils reached the Europa League final in the 2024-25 campaign after Manchester United knocked La Liga side Athletic Club<\/a> out of the semi-finals.<\/p>\n

United beat 10-man Athletic Club 3-0 in Bilbao<\/a> for the first leg of the semi-finals before the Red Devils hosted the Spanish club at Old Trafford<\/a> for the return leg.<\/p>\n

The Red Devils came from behind in the second leg after going 1-0 down at Old Trafford before half-time and United secured a 4-1 win over Athletic Club<\/a> at home.<\/p>\n

United punched their ticket to the Europa League<\/a> final on Wednesday and Ruben Amorim\u2019s<\/a> men met Premier League rivals Tottenham in an all-English showdown.<\/p>\n

Spurs secured their place in the final after Ange Postecoglou\u2019s men secured victories both home and away over Bodo\/Glimt in the Europa League semi-finals.<\/p>\n

Ange Postecoglou\u2019s side defeated Bodo\/Glimt 3-1 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the first leg before Spurs beat the Norwegian side 2-0 in Norway in the return leg.<\/p>\n

The Red Devils and Tottenham\u2019s Europa League final encounter was held at Athletic Club\u2019s San Mames Stadium in Bilbao.<\/p>\n

Manchester United manager<\/a> Ruben Amorim turned to his bench in the second half and brought Alejandro Garnacho<\/a> for the Europa League final against Tottenham.<\/p>\n

Mason Mount<\/a> was withdrawn for Alejandro Garnacho and the United<\/a> and Argentina winger\u2019s absence from the starting XI was a major contention issue for United fans<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Red Devils supporters insisted that Garnacho should have played in the No 10 role for the Europa League final ahead of Mason Mount on Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n

One United fan said: \u201cGarnacho should\u2019ve started the [match] or at least come on at HT [half-time].\u201d<\/p>\n

Another X user wrote: \u201cGarnacho shot on target within minutes he came on; WHY DID HE NOT START! [sic].\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cGarnacho should\u2019ve started, NGL,\u201d somebody else tweeted.<\/p>\n

While a fourth added: \u201cGarnacho did more in [two] minutes than Mount. LOL.\u201d<\/p>\n

And a fifth Red Devils supporter posted: \u201cUnited definitely should [have] brought on Garnacho a lot sooner.\u201d<\/p>\n

Somebody else argued: \u201cMount was anonymous tonight. Garnacho has somewhat done more than him since he\u2019s come on.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cCan\u2019t believe Garnacho didn\u2019t start,\u201d another United fan commented.<\/p>\n

An eighth simply suggested: \u201cGarnacho already being the most potent attacker on the pitch after [five] mins of being on.\u201d<\/p>\n

What happened in the 2025 Europa League final between Man Utd and Tottenham at the San Mames Stadium?<\/p>\n

Tottenham inflicted the first blow against United in the Europa League final on Wednesday evening after Brennan Johnson fired Spurs into the lead in the first half.<\/p>\n

Brennan Johnson latched onto a Pape Matar Sarr cross and the 23-year-old Welsh forward was able to poke a scrappy finish past Andre Onana<\/a> from close range.<\/p>\n

However, Johnson\u2019s finish for Spurs was questionable and the ball appeared to take a major deflection off Luke Shaw<\/a> before landing in the back of the United net.<\/p>\n

Ange Postecoglou\u2019s men held a 1-0 lead at half-time at the San Mames Stadium and Spurs took their advantage into the second half against United in Bilbao.<\/p>\n

United were unable to climb back into the contest in the second half and Tottenham defeated the Red Devils 1-0 and clinched the Europa League trophy in Bilbao.<\/p>\n
