Manchester United fans have insisted that only one first-team star under Ruben Amorim \u201cdeserves praise\u201d after the 2025 Europa League final tie against Tottenham.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Red Devils were in action at the San Mames Stadium on Wednesday evening and Manchester United fell short to Tottenham<\/a> in the Europa League final.<\/p>\n

Tottenham broke the deadlock against United<\/a> in Bilbao in the first half after Brennan Johnson put Spurs 1-0 up and Ange Postecoglou took their advantage into half-time.<\/p>\n

Brennan Johnson\u2019s first-half opener, which benefited significantly from a Luke Shaw<\/a> deflection, proved enough for Tottenham to seal their 1-0 victory over United<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

United were chasing the match against Tottenham<\/a> in the second half and Ruben Amorim\u2019s<\/a> men simply could not find the all-important equaliser against Spurs.<\/p>\n

The Red Devils will now end their disastrous 2024-25 season without any major silverware and with a terrible finish looming in the Premier League table.<\/p>\n

United<\/a> languish in 16th place and Amorim\u2019s side are only one point ahead of 17th-place Tottenham with only one Premier League match remaining this season.<\/p>\n

Amorim\u2019s side will be without European football for the 2025-26 season at Old Trafford<\/a> and the Red Devils failed to secure their return to the Champions League.<\/p>\n

Leny Yoro<\/a> took his place in the three-man backline of Ruben Amorim\u2019s Manchester United tactical system<\/a> for the Europa League final defeat to Tottenham in Spain.<\/p>\n

The 19-year-old French defender has become a key United first-team<\/a> player under Amorim and Leny Yoro saw out the full 90 minutes at the San Mames Stadium.<\/p>\n

United fans<\/a> on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, felt that Red Devils centre-back Yoro was the standout performer on Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n

\u201cYoro is made for the top; he\u2019s class,\u201d one Red Devils supporter said.<\/p>\n

Another X user suggested: \u201cLeny Yoro was very, very good today.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYoro is one hell of a player, what a man,\u201d someone else commented.<\/p>\n

While a fourth United fan wrote: \u201cYoro was a mile above any other players on that pitch, BTW, not even close either. Best defender for us, best midfielder for us, best delivery into the box.\u201d<\/p>\n

And a fifth posted: \u201cYoro is the only player that deserves praise after that performance. Absolutely sickening.\u201d<\/p>\n

Somebody else added: \u201cYoro is the only one who looked like he wanted to win today and he\u2019s a freakin\u2019 CB!!!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMy boy deserved better\u2026 The only player who was ready for the finals\u2026 Leny Yoro,\u201d another claimed.<\/p>\n

An eighth argued: \u201cYoro was the only shining light tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ruben Amorim breaks his silence after Man Utd failed to lift the Europa League trophy following the 1-0 defeat to Tottenham<\/strong><\/p>\n

Speaking at his post-match press conference on Wednesday evening, United manager<\/a> Amorim admitted that the Red Devils are now in a \u201ctough\u201d place.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have two plans for the market and we have to understand it is tough for a club like ours not to be in the Champions League,\u201d he said, as per BBC Sport<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut we have to use the other side. We have more time to work during the week on the Premier League and that will be our focus.\u201d<\/p>\n

United will now leave Spain and return to England for their final Premier League match of their abysmal 2024-25 campaign on the weekend.<\/p>\n
