Liverpool\u2019s squad could look a whole lot different by the time the season gets underway in August.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Reds are already making moves in the transfer market to ensure they are best-placed to defend their Premier League title next season.<\/p>\n

Jeremie Frimpong is set to arrive<\/a> and talks are underway to sign Milos Kerkez<\/a>. There has already been a noticeable acceleration in plans for Liverpool<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This is likely to be just the tip of the iceberg, with a new centre-forward, centre-back, attacking midfielder and potentially a wide forward all set to join.<\/p>\n

In order to finance that, there are also likely to be some departures from the Liverpool squad<\/a>.<\/p>\n

One player being linked with a move away is Alexis Mac Allister<\/a>, who has been integral to the Reds\u2019 success this season. But with Real Madrid ominously said to be lurking for Mac Allister, Liverpool have now received some good news on that front.<\/p>\n

Mac Allister has had a fantastic season<\/a>. Alongside Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Ryan Gravenberch, he has been one of Liverpool\u2019s very best players.<\/p>\n

Having signed for \u00a335m<\/a> from Brighton two years ago, the Argentine has turned into one of the biggest bargains in Liverpool history<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And according to The Guardian<\/a>, his valuation has sky-rocketed during two wonderful campaigns at Anfield<\/a>.<\/p>\n

They claim that Mac Allister has come onto Real Madrid\u2019s radar this summer as new coach Xabi Alonso<\/a> looks for \u2018more control\u2019 in his midfield.<\/p>\n

Mac Allister is reportedly being considered alongside Chelsea\u2019s Enzo Fernandez and Hugo Larsson of Eintracht Frankfurt.<\/p>\n

However, in what will be music to Liverpool supporters\u2019 ears, it\u2019s claimed that the Reds\u2019 No. 10 would simply be \u2018far too expensive\u2019 for Madrid to sign this summer.<\/p>\n

The European champions are said to be \u2018huge admirers\u2019 of Mac Allister, but getting him away from Liverpool is reportedly seen as being \u2018hugely challenging\u2019 and, as a result, is unlikely to happen.<\/p>\n

How much would Mac Allister cost?<\/p>\n

It is hard to say exactly what kind of price tag Liverpool would place on Mac Allister this summer. At 26 he is at the peak of his powers and is arguably Arne Slot\u2019s most important midfielder. <\/p>\n

With three years still to run on his contract, Liverpool would be in a strong position should Real, or any other club, come knocking.<\/p>\n

Troy Deeney claimed Mac Allister is worth \u00a3400m<\/a> after his recent brilliance in the Premier League, and while that is clearly an exaggeration, the fee would be enormous.<\/p>\n

As Liverpool know only too well, Madrid are seemingly reticent to spend big on transfer fees at the moment, preferring to sign big players for nothing.<\/p>\n

If that is their strategy on Mac Allister, then they\u2019ll be in for a long wait.
