A Coronation Street<\/a> star of five years has revealed he has left the ITV<\/a> soap for ‘new pastures’.<\/p>\n

Adam Hussain, 24, has portrayed Aadi Alahan since April 2020 when he took over from Zennon Ditchett who had played the character for 11 years.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The actor is now set to leave the cobbles and took to Instagram to announce his departure.<\/p>\n

He posted: ‘I guess the secrets out now! As some of you may have heard, I will be leaving Coronation Street for new pastures.<\/p>\n

‘Over the 5 years I\u2019ve spent there I have learned so much about the world and the industry and now feel I am ready to spread my wings a little. I have made friends that will last a lifetime and will surely miss such a special family!<\/p>\n

‘This isn\u2019t a farewell for Aadi however, more like a see you later!<\/p>\n

Many fans commented their support and one said: ‘Awww we’ll miss you Adam!! xxx.’<\/p>\n

‘Good luck Adam! Wish you all the best going forward bro.’<\/p>\n

Metro <\/a>reported that Adam will continue to feature in the soap until the end of summer.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Last year, the star sparked rumours he was set to step away from the cobbles after a slew of clues on social media.<\/a><\/p>\n

He shared that he was featuring in a film for a new production company and posted scenes from acting classes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He also later uploaded new headshots on his Instagram page – something actors tend to do before they switch gigs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

While in February, it was revealed Adam would be starring in a short film called Denial.<\/p>\n

It comes after it was revealed just last month that another Coronation Street star was set to leave the soap.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

Joe Layton, who plays Mick Michaelis, only joined the show in February\u00a0alongside partner Lou (Farrel Hegarty).<\/p>\n

It’s been revealed that Joe’s stint was always planned to be temporary after he originally joined on a fixed contract for a special storyline, with no ‘shock’ exit planned.<\/p>\n

Back in February, it was revealed Adam (pictured on Coronation Street, left) would be starring in a short film called Denial<\/p>\n

An insider has since told\u00a0The Mirror<\/a>\u00a0that Mick’s character will remain on screen until late July, with the soap source teasing there was ‘lots more to come’.<\/p>\n

More recently, it was revealed that Farrel would be leaving too and a\u00a0source told The Sun<\/a>: ‘She will be leaving the soap alongside Joe – they were bought on as a couple and will leave as such.<\/p>\n

‘Fans were hoping they would be around for a while but there are no plans to keep them on longer than first intended.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A Coronation Street spokesperson also confirmed to the publication: ‘Mick and Lou were brought into the show to cause chaos on the cobbles in the build-up to a major storyline in the summer and they are already making their presence felt.’\u00a0<\/p>\n
