Apple might be testing a new feature for the Vision Pro<\/a> that could make scrolling as simple as looking. According to media reports, gaze-controlled scrolling is coming to visionOS<\/a> 3, meaning you might never have to wave your fingers mid-air again.<\/p>\n

The headset already uses eye-tracking to let users select on-screen items with a simple pinch gesture. But this next step, scrolling purely with your gaze, could push hands-free computing into exciting new territory.<\/p>\n

From what we know, eye-scrolling would apply across all of Apple\u2019s built-in Vision Pro apps, allowing you to move through content just by shifting your gaze. Whether you\u2019re reading a long article or browsing app menus, this feature could make interactions feel smoother and more natural.<\/p>\n

The interesting part about this is that Apple<\/a> is reportedly preparing developer tools so third-party apps can support eye-scrolling too.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Believe it or not, Samsung<\/a> gave eye-scrolling a shot years ago on the Galaxy S4 using the phone\u2019s front camera. But it never quite took off. The Vision Pro, though, might wing it. It has advanced sensors, precise spatial awareness, and dedicated eye-tracking hardware. So, this time, the tech might finally be ready for prime time.<\/p>\n

Also, this isn\u2019t Apple\u2019s first time experimenting with eye-based navigation. In 2023, they rolled out eye-tracking on iPhones<\/a> and iPads<\/a> for accessibility, allowing users to control an on-screen pointer with their gaze. With Vision Pro, the company is simply building on that groundwork, but in a much more immersive way.<\/p>\n

This new feature is expected to debut at WWDC 2025 on June 9, where Apple will unveil visionOS 3 alongside iOS 19 and other big platform updates. Internally, Apple has also been reworking its Vision team, combining the visionOS and Siri software groups into a new division, possibly to strengthen AI and interaction design across the board.<\/p>\n
