{"id":122701,"date":"2025-05-22T14:07:12","date_gmt":"2025-05-22T14:07:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/122701\/"},"modified":"2025-05-22T14:07:12","modified_gmt":"2025-05-22T14:07:12","slug":"lewis-hamilton-and-lando-norris-arrive-at-f1-monaco-grand-prix-on-motorcycles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/122701\/","title":{"rendered":"Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris arrive at F1 Monaco Grand Prix on motorcycles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/f1\/racer\/9\/lewis-hamilton\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lewis Hamilton<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/f1\/racer\/912058\/lando-norris\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lando Norris<\/a> made a stellar entrance to the F1 Monaco Grand Prix on motorcycles.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Formula 1 drivers, particularly Hamilton, have never hidden their passion for speed on two wheels.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Hamilton has been spotted on the streets of Monaco riding his motorbike in the past, but his entrance to the grand prix media day on Thursday turned heads.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">He rode in on his\u00a0custom MV Agusta F4 LH44 &#8211; the machine he released in partnership with the famous manufacturer in 2017.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Except this time, it took on a fresh meaning.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Hamilton is driving at the Monaco Grand Prix in the red of Ferrari for the first time after a high-profile exit from Mercedes.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">So rocking up to the circuit on the red bike of a fellow Italian manufacturer was an iconic look.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">MV Agusta dominated the premier class of motorcycle racing in the late 1950s, 60s and 70s.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Through John Surtees, Gary Hocking, Mike Hailwood, Giacomi Agostini and Phil Read, it was the dominant motorcycle manufacturer in racing until 1975 when the Japanese brands took over.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Hamilton\u2019s test of a Superbike in 2018 remains racing folklore. He notoriously fell.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Toto Wolff explained earlier this year: \u201cSecretly &#8211; they didn\u2019t tell me &#8211; they went testing in Jerez and one of my heads of strategy was a motorbike guy, one of the engineers, and I couldn\u2019t get hold of him for two days.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cAnd then calling Lewis, his engineer picked up and said \u2018it\u2019s all good, all is fine, we\u2019ve just finished biking and just whatever you hear he\u2019s fine\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Hamilton\u2019s arrival in Monaco &#8211; where he will swap his red Italian bike for a red Italian car &#8211; is his latest outing on two wheels.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">F1 rival Norris, another local resident of Monaco, also arrived for his media duties on Thursday on a bike, complete with leather jacket.<\/p>\n<p>Subscribe to our MotoGP Newsletter<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris made a stellar entrance to the F1 Monaco Grand Prix on motorcycles.
