The first phase of a huge new housing estate on grassland in Bamford could soon be delivered.<\/p>\n
A parcel of land off Greenvale in the Rochdale<\/a> area is set to see 43 new homes built on it. This would be the first of 450 earmarked for Bamford by developers Wain Homes.<\/p>\n The new \u2018high quality\u2019 family homes would have a mix of two, three, four and five bedrooms, with access onto Greenvale.<\/p>\n Each of the 46 homes, sitting next to a series of ponds, would have private gardens and off-street parking provision.<\/p>\n As part of the wider scheme, the local sports pitches would be kept and improved with a new road and footpath network being built throughout the new neighbourhood.<\/p>\n The wider housing development forms part of the Places for Everyone (PfE) plan, which is a joint development plan for nine Greater Manchester districts to build thousands of new homes and jobs in the city region over the next two decades.<\/p>\n Rochdale as a whole would see 10,500 new houses built under PfE, with this site providing a large proportion of those homes.<\/p>\n Planning papers read: \u201cThe proposed development would deliver a range of high quality, high specification homes for the local community in a sustainable location.”<\/p>\n The planning team at Rochdale Council<\/a> will make a decision on the plan over the next few months.<\/p>\n —<\/p>\n Day in day out, our reporters in the Manchester Evening News newsroom bring you remarkable stories from all aspects of Mancunian life.
