{"id":123215,"date":"2025-05-22T18:35:09","date_gmt":"2025-05-22T18:35:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/123215\/"},"modified":"2025-05-22T18:35:09","modified_gmt":"2025-05-22T18:35:09","slug":"novak-djokovic-finally-handed-good-news-as-roland-garros-draw-is-made","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/123215\/","title":{"rendered":"Novak Djokovic finally handed good news as Roland Garros draw is made"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Novak Djokovic is set to compete for a record 25th Grand Slam title when he enters the French Open.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Serbian has mentioned on numerous occasions that he aims to peak in time for majors, the four biggest and most prestigious events in tennis.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/novak-djokovic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Novak Djokovic<\/a> reached the semi-finals in Paris a year ago but he was forced to withdraw due to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/novak-djokovic-provides-positive-post-surgery-update-after-french-open-withdrawal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">knee injury<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Now the 37-year-old is set to go for glory at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/french-open\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">French Open<\/a> once again, and despite his recent form, you can never count him out.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/GettyImages-2155980797-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"French Open Tennis Tournament. Roland-Garros 2024.\" class=\"wp-image-7213\" \/>Photo by Tim Clayton\/Corbis via Getty Images<strong>What is Novak Djokovic\u2019s French Open draw?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Djokovic is set to compete at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/french-open\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">French Open<\/a> for the 21st time in his illustrious career.<\/p>\n<p>The draw has now been revealed and the World number six will commence his campaign against America\u2019s Mackenzie McDonald.<\/p>\n<p>Should Djokovic reach the second round, he will take on either a qualifier or home favourite Corentin Moutet.<\/p>\n<p>Yunchaokete Bu or Canada\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/Denis-Shapovalov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Denis Shapovalov<\/a> could be waiting for Djokovic in round three, before some more tricky opponents lie ahead in the next round.<\/p>\n<p>Either <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/daniil-medvedev\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Daniil Medvedev<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/stan-wawrinka\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stan Wawrinka<\/a>, who defeated Djokovic in the 2015 French Open final, could face the former World number one in the fourth round.<\/p>\n<p>Should Djokovic return to the quarter-finals, he could face a rematch with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/john-mcenroe-left-stunned-after-what-he-saw-during-novak-djokovics-win-over-francisco-cerundolo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Francisco Cerundolo<\/a> who he defeated in five sets in the last eight a year ago. Another opponent Djokovic could have in the quarter-finals is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/alexander-zverev\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alexander Zverev<\/a>, who reached the finals in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Djokovic could then advance to the semi-finals where <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/jannik-sinner\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jannik Sinner<\/a> could be across the net, or Britain\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/jack-draper\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jack Draper<\/a>, who is having the best season of his career.
