Camden Market even features on the cover of The Clash\u2019s self-titled debut album.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">In second place was <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailystar.co.uk\/news\/latest-news\/nightclub-above-prince-wales-slammed-35062610\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Brixton, south London<\/a>, followed by Liverpool, according to a study by National Rail. Researchers analysed the lyrics of every UK hit since 1960 to create their <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/grnrmap.klutchstudio.co.uk\/\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">interactive digital map<\/a> of Britain.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">There\u2019s even a <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalrail.co.uk\/inspiration\/musical-routes\/\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">new set of audio guides<\/a> to go with it, narrated by DJ Jo Whiley and featuring ex-All Saints singer Melanie Blatt. Listeners can take a deep dive into musical history as they explore areas around the UK.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/0_Lieverpool-waterfront-England-UK.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>Liverpool came in third thanks to bands like The Beatles and The Beautiful South(Image: Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Jo said: \u201cLocations in Britain and the railway have been a source of inspiration for music artists for as long as I can remember.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cThere\u2019s no better way to connect with the music and artists you love than going to see the locations that inspired them in person.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The study found Brixton \u2013 home to artists like Mick Jones from The Clash \u2013 comes up in five major hits, including Electric Avenue by Eddy Grant. Meanwhile Liverpool has four, including Rotterdam by The Beautiful South.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Travellers can also use the map to find everything from Taylor Swift\u2019s Black <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailystar.co.uk\/latest\/dogs\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Dog<\/a> pub, in Vauxhall, south London, to The Smiths\u2019 Cemetery Gates in Manchester.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Music boffin Dr Lucy Bennett, who helped analyse the study, said: \u201cThis incredible research gives us a fascinating insight into how surroundings fundamentally influence music.
