Carlos Corberan and his Valencia side could yet deal Leeds United a bit of a blow in the transfer market this summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Carlos Corberan<\/a> took charge of Valencia back in December. The La Liga club were joint-bottom at the time but the former Leeds United<\/a> no.2 now has the club sitting in 12th place of the table.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been an extraordinary turnaround for the Spaniard and when the La Liga campaign finishes this week, attentions will quickly turn towards the summer, as they\u2019ve already done so at Elland Road<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Daniel Farke<\/a> has wasted no time in building a list of transfer targets at Leeds United<\/a> with several names on it, including many attacking players with that department looking particularly thin on the ground right now.<\/p>\n

One name linked is Jamie Vardy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Vardy has been linked with Leeds United<\/a> ahead of the summer with his Leicester City contract set to expire. The Foxes aren\u2019t renewing his stay and Vardy has been linked with a handful of clubs across the world, in the USA and Saudi Arabia, with Crystal Palace linked with Vardy<\/a> recently as well.<\/p>\n

Now though, The Sun<\/a> have revealed that Corberan is keen to bring Vardy to Valencia this summer. Corberan is understood to view Vardy as a budget-friendly option to front his counter-attacking style of play and he thinks the 38-year-old could provide the goods in the Spanish top flight.<\/p>\n

The report adds that \u2018Corberan has made his move early and hopes to persuade Vardy to give Spanish football a try before hanging up his boots\u2019, suggesting that there\u2019s been contact between the two.<\/p>\n

Vardy\u2019s next move will grab a lot of headlines this summer. He\u2019s certainly in the twilight of his career but he still proved prolific in the Premier League this season, scoring nine goals in 35 league games in what\u2019s been a woeful Leicester side.<\/p>\n

For Leeds, it might not be an exciting signing, but it would definitely be a useful one. And Vardy thinks he can still play in the Premier League<\/a> too. <\/p>\n

Speaking recently he said: \u201cYeah, 100% [I can play in the Premier League]. But again, football\u2019s a crazy world. So you never know what\u2019s going to happen. I\u2019m always excited for what comes next. I\u2019ve always said I\u2019ll keep going until my legs literally tell me, no, you need to stop, we\u2019re done. And my legs are fine.\u201d<\/p>\n

There might well be more guaranteed game time at Valencia. And for Vardy it would be an exciting new challenge and one that could really put his skills to the test too, going up against the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid and so on.<\/p>\n
