The futures of several Manchester United players are up in the air right now after the devastating 1-0 Europa League final defeat.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It was the lowest night the club have experienced in a long, long time, being defeated in a European final by Tottenham, with the performance disappointing all round.<\/p>\n

Manchester United<\/a> went into the game as underdogs, yet during the game it was Ruben Amorim\u2019s<\/a> side who were the superior side, despite failing to win.<\/p>\n

The loss came because United had key players underperforming<\/a> all at once which made picking up all three points nearly impossible. MUTV\u2019s Sammy McIlroy picked out Bruno Fernandes for his unusually poor performance<\/a>, as the captain was a shadow of himself.<\/p>\n

While the players let United down, Amorim also takes a chunk of the blame for several major mistakes<\/a> which proved to be costly.<\/p>\n

Following the defeat, there were several talking points, such as Alejandro Garnacho\u2019s future at United<\/a>. While Bruno Fernandes<\/a>, Ruben Amorim<\/a> and Kobbie Mainoo<\/a> were also hot topics.<\/p>\n

Fernandes was visibly upset having been defeated in a second Europa League final while wearing the United captain\u2019s armband. Following this, Fernandes told Ineos that if they want to sell him he will leave<\/a>, as Sky Sports shared on Thursday morning.<\/p>\n

However, now United in Focus<\/strong> have spoken with transfer expert Graeme Bailey<\/a>, explaining the situation around Fernandes.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith Bruno, the understanding is that even as of last night, I am told, he accepts that the club can\u2019t sell him, no matter the offers that come in for him. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe Saudis are pushing really hard, and there is a big offer on the table, with Ronaldo recommending him, and they will try this summer. <\/p>\n

\u201cHowever, even if Bruno was open to the Saudi move, I am told there is just absolutely no way that United can contemplate letting him out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Selling Fernandes is a no go for United, he is the heart of the club right now and without him this season, you dread to think what may have happened. Fernandes reportedly has an offer of \u00a3195m over three seasons<\/a>, but to United he is priceless.<\/p>\n

Will Ruben Amorim remain Manchester United\u2019s head coach?<\/p>\n

Amorim is in a tough situation at United, with his six months at the club among the worst ever seen at United.<\/p>\n

This has raised speculation over his future, with Amorim offering to leave without compensation if the club wanted him to; however, while speaking with United in Focus<\/strong>, Bailey explained this is unlikely.<\/p>\n

\u201cAmorim\u2019s not going anywhere. I don\u2019t think he is massively happy at the moment, and he shouldn\u2019t be; he wants and needs the club to back him. <\/p>\n

\u201cThere are other clubs, such as Bayer Leverkusen, keeping an eye on the situation, so it\u2019s an interesting scenario, and we will see in the coming weeks if Delap arrives, who won the battle of striker suggestions. But yeah, he\u2019s not in any danger.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fernandes and Luke Shaw have both backed Amorim to improve<\/a>, and it looks like the 40-year-old will get this opportunity.<\/p>\n

Kobbie Mainoo\u2019s future is not guaranteed.<\/p>\n

Amorim gave Mainoo just seven minutes in the final<\/a>, which is a drastic decrease from May 2024, when he was the star of the show in the FA Cup final.<\/p>\n

Mainoo has struggled this season with injuries and fitness impacting his development slightly. Now, Bailey has told United in Focus<\/strong> the latest around Mainoo\u2019s futures.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith Kobbie Mainoo, there are still talks over his new deal, and his people are mystified where it is. This should become clear in the coming weeks, but if it is not sorted, he could go, he really could if the contract isn\u2019t sorted out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mainoo has struggled to find his place in Amorim\u2019s team and will hope to drastically improve in the coming months and earn that new contract; otherwise, it would be a sale that may leave the fanbase in uproar.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
