\u201cBeckham has done so much charity work with Charles and they are very close,\u201d a source exclusively told Us Weekly. \u201cCharles even gave Beckham a birthday present for David\u2019s 50th [birthday].\u201d<\/p>\n

The friendship of Beckham, 50, and Charles, 76,<\/a> was on full display at the Royal Horticultural Society\u2019s Chelsea Flower Show on Monday, May 19, where the King was overheard asking Beckham if he had received his gift.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201c[Beckham] really wants the knighthood, as he\u2019s very patriotic and loves his country,\u201d the source explained. \u201cIt\u2019s in his grasp as he\u2019s got past all his other scandals with his documentary and his charity work has been so impressive, but he\u2019s worried this family scandal has been on all the front pages threatens to overshadow all his amazing charity work and could delay decisions about a knighthood.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tAs rumors of an alleged feud within the Beckham family continue to swirl, a family therapist is breaking down the ins and outs of the apparently fractured relationships. \u201cThey are stuck with this public-private conflict,\u201d Dr. Gail Saltz, MD, clinical associate professor of psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College and author, exclusively told Us Weekly [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n

In the 2023 Netflix documentary Beckham, the former soccer star\u2019s alleged affair<\/a> in the early 2000s was discussed. While the matter was kept vague, Beckham\u2019s wife, Victoria Beckham<\/strong>, called it the \u201chardest period in their marriage.\u201d<\/p>\n

The source added, \u201c[David] loves the royal family and even queued on his own to pay tribute to the Queen when she died. He\u2019s old school and respectful.\u201d<\/p>\n

David isn\u2019t the only one who could receive the royal honor. Victoria, 51, \u201ccould also get a damehood for service to fashion,\u201d the source added.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Despite being one of the most prominent British celebrities of his generation, David has never been knighted.\u00a0<\/p>\n

While David\u2019s friendship with Charles hints at a possible development on that front,\u00a0tension within the Beckham family has boiled over in recent weeks, which was decidedly evident when David and Victoria\u2019s son, Brooklyn, 26, failed to attend his father\u2019s 50th birthday party<\/a> on May 3.\u00a0<\/p>\n

At the center of the falling out is drama between Brooklyn and his younger brother Romeo<\/strong>\u2019s girlfriend, Kim Turnbull<\/strong>, who Romeo, 22, has been dating since last year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The source told Us that Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz-Beckham<\/strong>, offered a \u201cseparate meet-up\u201d to celebrate David\u2019s birthday in an attempt to avoid Turnbull, but David and Victoria declined the request.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A third insider has also told Us<\/a> that the relationship between Victoria and Peltz, 30, has been filled with \u201cbad blood\u201d since between Brooklyn and Peltz tied the knot in April 2022.\u00a0<\/p>\n
