Andre Onana caught the eye of eagle-eyed Manchester United fans during one crucial instance in the 2025 Europa League final against Tottenham on Wednesday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Red Devils missed out on securing Champions League football for the 2025-26 season after Manchester United failed to beat Tottenham<\/a> in the Europa League final.<\/p>\n

The Europa League final<\/a> was hosted at the San Mames Stadium in Bilbao and Tottenham walked away from the tie against United<\/a> with the ultimate bragging rights.<\/p>\n

Andre Onana<\/a> was unable to deny Brennan Johnson before half-time and Tottenham broke the deadlock against United<\/a> in the Europa League final in the first half.<\/p>\n

United faced an uphill battle against Tottenham<\/a> and the Red Devils were unable to pull themselves back into the lacklustre contest before the full-time whistle.<\/p>\n

Ruben Amorim<\/a> will now sign off the Red Devils\u2019 abysmal 2024-25 campaign without securing his first piece of major silverware as United manager<\/a> since his 2024 arrival.<\/p>\n

United<\/a> will now be without any European football for next season at Old Trafford<\/a> and the Red Devils face a major task in turning around their fortunes going forward.<\/p>\n

Manchester United offered very little in attack against Tottenham and Spurs superbly neutralised the Red Devils\u2019 major threats at the San Mames Stadium.<\/p>\n

The Red Devils received a late corner against Tottenham in the Europa League final and Andre Onana made his way into the Spurs box amid the 1-0 scoreline.<\/p>\n

TikTok user SportyTV has now shared footage of Onana waiting for the United corner and the 29-year-old appeared to signal to teammate Amad Diallo<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Amad Diallo was preparing to take the corner and Onana could be seen tapping his head in the direction of the 22-year-old United winger before he walked away.<\/p>\n

Onana was unable to do anything meaningful during the corner and Spurs fended off the Red Devils\u2019 late set-piece in Wednesday\u2019s Europa League final.<\/p>\n

United manager Amorim claimed that the Red Devils \u201cstarted the second half quite well\u201d and he felt there was no need to change his team around with substitutions.<\/p>\n

Speaking after the full-time whistle in the Europa League final, he told TNT Sports (via BBC Sport<\/a>): \u201cWe suffered a goal. In the second half, we were in control of the game we had situations to score.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we started quite well for the first five or seven minutes, but then lost a bit of control of the game.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe then suffered a goal, but then the rest of the game we had clear chances to score.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe started the second half quite well, so [changing] just for people to see that I change something is not my way of doing things.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I felt we needed a different player, I put on a different player.\u201d<\/p>\n

United will return to action for their final Premier League match of their lacklustre 2024-25 season on Sunday evening, with Aston Villa visiting Old Trafford.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
