Although it\u2019s become so normalized for people to lose weight using GLP-1 \u2014 many are suffering from its bizarre side effects, like \u201cOzempic face<\/a>,\u201d except for a woman named Alejandra Salomon.<\/p>\n Salomon noticed a big difference in how her face looked after she took Semaglutide, a compound version of Ozempic, to lose weight for her sister\u2019s wedding. 60 pounds lighter.<\/p>\n Many Ozempic users complain about their faces looking \u201chollowed out\u201d or sagging \u2014 but Salomon experienced the opposite. While experts will say that Ozempic and similar weight loss drugs \u201c\u2026 make the face look much older,\u201d Dr. Patrick Byrne, president of the\u00a0American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery<\/a>\u00a0(AAFPRS), told The Post.\u00a0<\/p>\n Salomon \u2014 who is in her late twenties \u2014 feels the opposite. \u201cMy weight loss made me look 10 years younger \u2013 no Botox needed,\u201d she told NeedToKnow.<\/p>\n While some Ozempic faces are appearing older with sunken cheeks, gaunt eyes and sagging neck skin \u2014 that doesn\u2019t seem to be the case for Saloman as she\u2019s thrilled with how young her face looks. <\/p>\n \u201cIt looks like I got jawline filler but really, I lost 60lbs and got in the best shape of my life,\u201d she told NeedToKnow.<\/p>\n The 20-something-year-old started taking the weight loss drug \u201c\u2026because my parents thought it would be a good idea to lose 20lbs for my sister\u2019s wedding.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt looks like I got jawline filler but really, I lost 60lbs and got in the best shape of my life,\u201d she told NeedToKnow. Jam Press\/@actuallyal__<\/p>\n \u201cIt has without a doubt been the best decision for both my health and confidence,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Salomon doesn\u2019t view her slimmed-down face as a bad thing \u2014 if anything, she looks at it as a healthy change because she now thinks her once round face was a sign of inflammation. <\/p>\n She made sure to mention that although Semaglutide changed her life \u2014 it did come with some work. <\/p>\n \u201cIt is not an easy solution and is not a magic trick. I started to eat so much protein and switch up my workouts,\u201d she admitted.<\/p>\n Salomon said she is no longer on the medication but is still working hard to keep herself healthy.<\/p>\n The 20-something-year-old is thrilled with how she looks.
