{"id":124311,"date":"2025-05-23T04:25:11","date_gmt":"2025-05-23T04:25:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/124311\/"},"modified":"2025-05-23T04:25:11","modified_gmt":"2025-05-23T04:25:11","slug":"sainsburys-shopper-disgusted-by-random-item-embedded-in-cheese","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/124311\/","title":{"rendered":"Sainsbury&#8217;s shopper disgusted by &#8216;random&#8217; item embedded in cheese"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;Staff were clueless as to how it could have got in there&#8221;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/0_SG_BGS_22-05-25-cheese_02_result.jpg\" loading=\"eager\"  \/>Sainsbury&#8217;s has apologised(Image: Submitted\/Bristol Live)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/all-about\/sainsburys\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Sainsbury&#8217;s <\/a>shopper made a bizarre discovery as she peeled the seal off a pot of cheese.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Jasmine Tripp-Edwards was in the middle of making a tiramisu dessert for a friend, when she found that a key ingredient was &#8220;contaminated&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The self-employed hairdresser had bought own-brand mascarpone cheese from the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/all-about\/portishead\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Portishead <\/a>supermarket last week, only to find a clothing label poking out of the surface.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Sainsbury&#8217;s has apologised for the &#8220;rare&#8221; occurrence, but Jasmine has now been left questioning the slip in hygiene standards that led to the foreign object making it on to the shelves.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">She told Bristol Live: &#8220;It was really really random, I was making a tiramisu for my friend and I&#8217;d not bought enough mascarpone, so I got my boyfriend to go down to Sainsbury&#8217;s to buy some.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;It had a plastic lid, and then it had a white film [underneath]. I peeled the film back and there was literally a hole in the cheese, and I could see something in there.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/1747974310_648_0_SG_BGS_22-05-25-cheese_02_result.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>The Sainsbury&#8217;s shopper&#8217;s photo of what appears to be a clothing label, embedded in a sealed pot of mascarpone cheese(Image: Submitted\/Bristol Live)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/all-about\/portishead\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Portishead<\/a> resident said she was &#8220;in disgust&#8221; wondering: &#8220;What on earth is this?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Jasmine added: &#8220;I didn&#8217;t pull all of it out because I wanted to take it back to Sainsbury&#8217;s and show them exactly as it was, but I could see it had clothing labels in there for a woman&#8217;s top.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;I got straight in the car and when I got down to Sainsbury&#8217;s they were very shocked but really lovely and just said for me to go and pick up another one.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/1_SG_BGS_22-05-25-cheese_result.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>A close-up of the foreign object(Image: Submitted\/Bristol Live)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;They were clueless as to how it could have physically got in there. From what I could see from the label it wasn&#8217;t from a Sainsbury&#8217;s top, it was just like that rubbery, papery material of label that you get with clothing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;It was really odd, it was like someone had literally just chucked their rubbish in with the mix or something.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Though she said it would not deter her from shopping at Sainsbury&#8217;s again as it was the first issue she had encountered, she questioned if there should be a product recall, in case the whole batch was affected.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Jasmine said: &#8220;It does make me think what actually goes on in the factories that we don&#8217;t really know about, for that to get in there.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;Because that [pot] was contaminated, really I shouldn&#8217;t have been able to pick up the same one again.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A Sainsbury\u2019s spokesperson told Bristol Live: \u201cWe have processes in place to ensure our products meet our usual high standards.
