Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim \u201cneeds to look at himself\u201d in the summer and address one elephant in the room during his reign at Old Trafford.<\/strong><\/p>\n

That is according to former England and Tottenham manager Glenn Hoddle, who dropped a scathing verdict on Ruben Amorim<\/a> after the 2025 Europa League final.<\/p>\n

The Red Devils missed out on major silverware on Wednesday evening after Manchester United lost 1-0 to Tottenham<\/a> in the Europa League final in Spain.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Brennan Johnson broke the deadlock for Tottenham against United<\/a> in the first half and the 23-year-old forward\u2019s opener also sealed the win on the night for Spurs.<\/p>\n

United were unable to rally back against Tottenham<\/a> after the break and Spurs maintained their 1-0 advantage over United<\/a> at the San Mames Stadium in Bilbao.<\/p>\n

The Red Devils have failed to secure Champions League football for next season and will be without any European football for the 2025-26 campaign under Amorim.<\/p>\n

Manchester United manager<\/a> Ruben Amorim now only has one match remaining in the Red Devils\u2019 woeful 2024-25 Premier League campaign at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n

United will leave Bilbao after their defeat to Tottenham<\/a> and will now welcome Aston Villa to Old Trafford<\/a> for their final Premier League fixture of the season.<\/p>\n

The Red Devils languish in 16th place in the Premier League table and United are only one point clear of Europa League winners Spurs, who are currently 17th.<\/p>\n

United have been abysmal in their Premier League campaign and the Red Devils will end the current season with their worst finish in Premier League history.<\/p>\n

The Premier League club have lost a whopping 18 times in 37 league fixtures and United have only managed 10 wins ahead of their encounter with Aston Villa.<\/p>\n

Speaking after the 1-0 Europa League final defeat to Tottenham<\/a>, Glenn Hoddle raised concerns about Ruben Amorim\u2019s tactical system for United<\/a> for next season.<\/p>\n

\u201cRuben Amorim will be under pressure if he doesn\u2019t start well next year,\u201d he said on TNT Sports, as per BBC Sport<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey have never played three at the back [at] Man Utd \u2013 he needs to look at himself in the summer and think, \u2018In the Premier League, can I make this work?\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cTonight, they ran out of ideas, again.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ruben Amorim makes his position clear as Man Utd manager after the 2025 Europa League final vs Tottenham in Bilbao<\/strong><\/p>\n

Amorim sent out a powerful message that he still feels that he is the right man to lead United and remains \u201cconfident\u201d about his role as head coach of the Red Devils.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am confident I am still the guy, more than in the beginning,\u201d he told TNT Sports.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know the patience of the fans will be really short in the next season, but I guarantee you I will not quit and I will not go away. I am really confident.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know the club; I know what it means to coach this club and I understand what this team needs. If they say it is better to change, I will leave in [sic] the next day.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am really confident in myself to continue to do the job if the board wants me.\u201d<\/p>\n

United have lost four of their last five Premier League matches ahead of hosting Aston Villa for a 4pm kick-off at Old Trafford on Sunday evening.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
